How was my visit? In one word, Abysmal.
I made an appointment for TB and COVID-19 tests at the Arundel Mills location for my 93 year old mother. We arrived 20 minutes early for a 10:30 a.m appointment on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. Upon arrival, we were told that we would not be seen until around 12 o'clock even though we had an appointment. We were told to get back in the car, drive around the back, and wait until someone came to get us. At 11:30, I left my mom in the car while I went back to the front desk for status and was told that there were still six people ahead of us. I went back to the front desk at 12:45 and was told again that there were still people ahead of us. Around 1:30, we were finally motioned to come in and were led to a treatment room.
Let me be clear about one thing. The staff on duty that morning were great. The receptionist, nurse, and physician were all exceptionally nice. The nurse, whose name is Orielle, could not have been kinder.
But why do you make appointments if you do not honor them?
A simple visit for a an elderly, 93 year old woman, who only needed screening tests turned into an ordeal. This is inexcusable.
It was my first visit to Righttime and, I can assure you, that it will be my last.
Sincerely
WILD STORY, TERRIBLE STAFF. Where to start. I've been to several locations since they opened years ago. I mostly frequent the Olney location. I get sick often and urgent care is a great way for me to avoid hospital visits. I have had many urinalysises there with similar results and many different treatments, most of which I had to follow up on getting a stronger antibiotic or whatever needed to change. One time they actually got my urine mixed up with another patients and gave me the wrong prescription! Luckily I noted the mix up before taking it by shear luck.
Ok. So my main issue. I had been less and less impressed by the staff at the Olney location after that mix up. Very unorganized..... so I fall down the stairs and have some bumps and bruises but I'm fine. Couple days later, I got a severe migraine and had remembered hitting my head but it hadn't hurt at the time. I don't normally get migraines so I was a little concerned because I know brain damage can be deadly without even knowing it and I'd never had a concussion before so I thought it would be best to just go get evaluated to make sure I wasn't getting worse later on. I call to make the appointment for Olney. I go in about 10 min early and signed the paperwork and paid my $100 copay. I sit down and wait. My head is pounding. I took two Tylenol before coming which seem to have do little to none on pain relief. I'm very uncomfortable and just trying to wait patiently with all the bright lights and obnoxious tv playing. I close my eyes a bit to stay relaxed and a worker is heading out when she sees me and says "ma'am are you alright?" I realize she must be talking to me, though I didn't know my pain was showing so obviously as I had been consciously trying to relax my face. I turned and reassured her "yep I'm alright" and we both refocused on our own business.
So a little background; this day was not a pleasant day for me as it was. I had been having a ton of family issues and personal/other medical obstacles that were/are pressing pretty hard at the moment on top of the fact I fell down and hurt myself. My head is not all that clear and I'm just trying to stay afloat so I can take care of myself. Not that any of this should have ever been relevant.
Back to my visit: I am called and go back, get my vitals, update my chart, etc. I hear them (nurse/doc) discussing how I couldn't remember which day I fell and how that was an issue. I couldn't get them the exact night because I have a neurological disorder that makes my short term memory very poor and as it didn't seem significant at the time due to the pain level, I didn't take much note of it relative to other events that weekend. I hasn't realized it would be an issue.
The doctor, Faith, came in and asked me more questions except instead of an evaluation, I received an interrogation. I was asked when it happened ten different ways and same for if I was intoxicated at the time (no). Then I was asked what I did for the pain. I answered "two Tylenol before I came here and I have my med card so I was using cannabis several hours ago". This was the wrong answer apparently. Her tone then became swift and daring, "did you get high?" I paused thinking this was a trick question but I quickly decided there was nothing wrong with the truth and said "yes" then another "did you drive yourself here?" "Yes?" Then Faith gets furious. Keep in mind, I'm there for a headache from potential brain injury, and she starts YELLING at me. "You drove here and put others in danger! I'm going to call the police!" Just going off. Leaves the room and so I'm left thinking "okay I guess this appointment is over" so I grab my stuff and go to leave and she's yelling at the staff to guard the door. So I'm literally completely surrounded by about four or five employees (LITERALLY) arms out legs spread trying to herd me when I'm not resisting or DOING anything. I said "I came in for treatment and I'm not high but you won't treat me so I'm leaving". She says she's calling police and I said that was fine because I knew I was doing nothing wrong or illegal. So they try to get me to go in a room to lock me in but I just sat down in the lobby with the door guarded and others watching me. Another big thing to take note of: I have severe anxiety and PTSD and what was going on at this point, was extremely extremely triggering. My hands were shaking. My head pounding. I'm just trying to disengage and wait for the police to come. They hasn't called yet. They were just not sure what to do with me yet I think. So I tried for the emergency exit, calmly, but it was code entry. So I detoured and went to the bathroom to try and gather myself and my nerves and just get centered as this is the only way I can deescalate my anxiety attacks. I was in there less than 2 minutes before I got bombarded by three different people harassing me to come out. Faith yelling(!) "this is not your home you need to come out" over and over. I told them I just needed a minute while I waited for the police. They then call the police. A few minutes goes by and I haven't been in there more than 8 minutes and a woman (without announcing so) unlocks the door and opens it while I'm still on the toilet. I had already said several times that I just needed a min. Pounding on the door. I then clean up and go back to the lobby. Door still barricaded with bodies. Before I sit down Faith steps out from a wall and intersects me shoving a clipboard in my face and, without ever saying what it was, tells me to sign it. When I reject she, with zero hesitation, says "fine I'll sign it and get a witness". Still have no clue what that was or why she had to be so nasty in her tone with me, as if I had personally targeted her when I decided to smoke legal cannabis for the pain I was having for an injury you won't even treat. My bad. I (everything I have done has been extremely calm and gentle) return to my sitting spot and wait for the police. In the Meantime, other brutish and careless comments were made to me. The cops arrive, Faith tells the story as it was (from what I could hear) the cops are obviously not very intrigued coming over to talk to me. I tell them "I'm not high. I just want to be treated with some respect. I came here to be treated and was rejected" cop says "right but if you smoked several hours ago it's still in your system" (not how it works. Cannabis stays in your system for two weeks while the psychoactive part lasts no more than 3 hours except for edibles/tablets) but I was not going to argue so I said "fine but I have no other ride" the cops give me a ride, I pick my car up later. The most unnecessary anxiety attack and $100 spent ever.
Misdiagnosed twice now at this location in 2 years. Antibiotics for a sinus infection were required; doctors missed it.
I have taken my son to this location twice and twice, he was sent away without medication. I followed up with his pediatrician and in both instances, he required antibiotics for a severe sinus infection with high fever. Now, I am being charged for inadequate care. If RightTime should be able to diagnose something as simple as a sinus infection. The doctor never even checked his nasal passages. The care at this facility is very inadequate and we won't be returning.
I would like my bill written off. I should not have to pay for inadequate service. I can forget one time but this happened twice now. The misdiagnosis caused my son to miss 2 days of school that he would not have had to miss if diagnosed appropriately.

NOTE. COULD NOT FIND A PASSWORD IN CORRESPONDENCE TO USE YOUR RESPONSE FORM
To Whom It May Concern: This patient was seen at Righttime Medical Care on 2 occasions (20 February, 2018 and 06 January, 2019). The clinical presentations on both occassions were clearly not consistent with a diagnosis of a sinus infection in a pediatric patient. On both occasions the symptoms had been present for only 1 day and the history was that of clear nasal discharge. There was no purulent nasal discharge noted on examination on either occasion. Per the parents correspondence, "...he was sent away without medication. I followed up with his pediatrician and in both instances, he required antibiotics for a severe sinus infection with high fever."
Pediatricians have always been in the forefront in championing being better "antibiotic stewards". This child clearly did not meet the clinical criteria for diagnosis of a sinus infection at the time of either of his visits to Righttime Medical Care as set forth by the Clinical Practice Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Acute Bacterial Sinusitis in Children Aged 1 to 18 years. When I have access to a scanner later today I will forward to you the first 2 pages of this 44 page Guideline, if you would like to post along with this response.
Unfortunately, the last Physician seeing a patient usually "wins" these types of arguments. We have requested the records from the PCP and while I would be happy to discuss this further with the Pediatrician, practicing Standard of Care Evidence Based Medicine would not warrant diagnoses of a sinus infection at either of the above referenced visits

Symptoms of a fever had been present for 3 days, not 1 day.
I've been trying to get in contact with someone at Righttime to dispute a charge and I have not received any call backs or responses to my emails.
On July 15, 2018, I went to Righttime Urgent Care to get my ankle checked out because I had fallen and my ankle was sore. I was able to walk fine but I wanted to make sure there were no fractures. While at Righttime, I had gotten several x-rays of my foot. They showed that my foot was fine but they provided me with a walking boot saying it would help to relieve some of the pressure on my foot.
One month later, I received a bill and they charged me $200 for this boot. $200 for ONE boot? I contacted the Billing department to dispute the charge for the Pneumati Walking Boot which is marked up 150% after I checked with the Healthcare Bluebook. I also checked online and the same exact boot is sold for $40. I sent an email to Billing and because they never responded to my email, I called. When I called I was told that I would have to speak to Customer Service. The response over the phone was, "well isn't insurance paying for it?", I responded that I am paying out of pocket. They then told me that I needed to speak to Billing. I mentioned that Billing had transferred me to Customer Service. So then they said a nurse from the Columbia location will give me a call. What does the nurse have to do with an overcharge? It is clear they mark up prices with the idea that insurance will just pay it, but for folks paying out of pocket, we are getting completely ripped off. And they are refusing to admit this so they are avoiding my calls and emails. I sent two additional emails after not receiving a call back. I still have not gotten a response. This is completely unethical.
I am seeking a refund and would like for Righttime to match the price of what I see online for the Pneumati Walking Boot which is $39.02. I expect a refund of $160.98.

They finally responded to me so I can close this case out. This has been resolved.

Right Time billed an old insurance plan they had on file instead of the most current one I had provided at the time of visit.
I am writing regarding account XXXXXXX, claim XXXXXXX. Right time charged an old insurance plan that they had on file instead of the current one I had provided at the visit. I was charged $110 (Originally $160, but I payed a copay of $50 at the time of visit) as the claim was rightfully declined by Blue Cross. I have been calling Right Time for almost 6 months now to sort out this issue to issue my refund. In August, I even called Blue Cross myself to make sure they had heard from Right Time and that the proper communication had taken place. I have been calling Right Time for months and it is absolutely ridiculous that they were so quick to charge me yet are taking so long to do their job and issue me a refund that is owed to me. Each time I call either someone is out of the office or they blame it on Blue Cross. I am extremely aggravated and instead of providing an excuse Right Time needs to expedite the process and issue the refund. It is unbelievable that I have had to call multiple times each month and have not seen any result.
I am owed a refund of $110.00
HIPAA violation.
After my visit with Righttime Medical Care I looked through the paperwork I was given. I notice that they gave me another persons paperwork.
When I called to see what happened to my paperwork, they said my paperwork was never printed and they reprinted another persons paperwork and gave it to me.
They did not tell me what to do with the paperwork I was given.
I want them to get my paperwork to me and contact everyone that went through their clinic to assure me that my information was not given to another person.
The patient picked up his discharge summary from the Arundel Mills location. The incorrect paperwork was shred.
