February 5, 2015 In response to MrFoster's complaint: ID # ***
To begin with, this was never a warranty issueThe initial work was done in SeptemberThe customer didn't notify us about there being a problem with the work until after the second service
call that was done in NovemberOn December 3rd he called and made a complaint about the work done and about billWe have a day warrantyThe customer has to call within that day period. The customer claimed that the spigot had never frozen upThat is not the caseThe reason the spigot needed replaced and was replaced in September was because it had frozen up and broke in some past wintersOur other HVAC/Plumber Tech was at the customer's house, for a nonrelated repairThe Tech could hear water gushing under the customer's house when the customer's friend was using the garden hoseOur Tech told the customer that the spigot needed to be replacedThe customer called our on call Tech during our Thanksgiving break saying that his spigot was leakingThe customer never mentioned a warranty problem etconly that it was leakingSo our Plumber/Tech went to the customer's house to fix the spigot on his day offWhen the Plumber arrived at the customer's house the Plumber found a garden hose frozen in an upright position up against the house next to the spigotSo it looked like it had just been disconnected from the spigotIf a hose is not disconnected from a spigot, the spigot cannot drainTherefore it will freeze up hose and spigot at -degrees, causing the spigot to break and leak. The customer called December 3`rdAt that time he complained about the bill for the work done in SeptemberHis story did not make any sense at allHe told me that the spigot had been leaking since September and a friend of his had to fix it on ThanksgivingI told him he should have called sooner if that was the case and that if his friend fixed it why did he call our Tech to fix it on Friday the day after ThanksgivingI find it interesting that he never called us until he received the bill for the second service call then brought up the first service callSo we feel that the work wasn't the problem but it was the bill he didn't likeThe work was done and he needs to pay the bill
