First of all the first check was made out to both Ron & I the next check was made out to Ronald Etheridge Estate % [redacted]. My bank will not touch it I have been to three other banks here got same answer. Had one bank call Richland Grant told them there is not a bank where I live that will cash or deposit this check. I have called and asked them to send check in both our names they said no.
Review: I contacted charter communications and they told me that they would not compete with [redacted]. Where's the free enterprise and completion between the completion?Desired Settlement: I would simply like an explination

Response:
I responding to the above number complaint. This complaint is from a local customer of ours that has our video service. We provide service over our facilities in the small village. Her complaint is regarding the fact that she called Charter Communications that doesn’t provide service in the village and I am assuming that they told her they have no plans to build facilities to compete to such a small market. I guess this complaint should have been filed against Charter Communications and not [redacted] telephone Cooperative since they are the ones that don’t want to come to this area. Richland Grant has not control of or agreements with Charter Communications on where they will or will not provide services.
Sincerely,
CEO

Review: Richland-Grant Telephone Cooperative is doing shady business. My sister, a widow, who is disabled and living on a small income was sent a refund check for just under $500.00 dollars. This is from when she and her husband had an account and lived in Blue River over 10 years ago. My sister's husband had been dead for 8 years. Even though both of their names were on the account and my sister paid the bill, RGLC cut a check to her dead husband's estate and care of my sister. The way this is written makes the check impossible to cash or deposit at any bank and we have spoken with several. RGLC refuses to reissue a check saying that their attorney says it has to be written out in this manner. I have called them, we have had banks call them and still they refuse to reissue the check. I asked when I called them what they do with any overages on their budget at the year end, because they issue useless checks and was told the funds go to an education fund. This is all well and fine if my sister were not living in poverty and needs the money. A few months ago, they sent a check for $122.00 a few months made out to [redacted], which can be deposited while presenting a death certificate and will.Desired Settlement: The check needs to be reissued in a form that can be deposited. Four different banks have confirmed the check cannot be cashed or deposited as is. RGTC said to have a bank call. A bank called and told them this but they still refuse to issue a viable check.
