Richboro Imported Car Service

Review: I took my 2001 Volkswagen Golf to Richboro Imported Car Service for a coolant leak and minor vacuum hose repair. I asked for an estimate and the owner did not provide any information of cost of parts or labor. I called two days later for an update on my vehicle and they had begun work on my car with zero authorization from myself. They continued to repair my car after telling them more than once to contact me before anymore work was to be done. Six days later they finally call and tell me my car is done and that I owed them $1,400. According to the Bureau of Consumer Protection the auto repair shop is required to give you a written or verbal estimate of all work to be done. After the estimate is given the customer must give authorization for all repairs. None of this was done in my case. I was able to talk the owner down a small amount but still am no where near satisfied. Beware of this place, they do average work and are extremely sly and take advantage of customers.Desired Settlement: Not total refund. I am not seeking to have my car repaired free of cost. I am just looking for a reasonable resolution to this problem. I believe taking advantage of a customer and dropping a large invoice on them is unfair. If I would have known this was going to cause so much hassle I would have taken my chances at the local [redacted].
