Thank you for reaching out to Rich Products Corporation for a response relative to the above-referenced complaint. Rich’s has had a serious of communications with the complainant but has been unable to successfully resolve this dispute. The complainant first contacted our customer after
she found what she described as “furry meat” in a piece of cheesecake dispensed at the customer’s location in single serving packages. Complainant reported having ingested a part of the foreign object and subsequently experiencing nausea, anxiety, and other subjective symptoms of anxiety. The foreign object was examined by Rich’s personnel at the manufacturing location and determined to be the food grade cardboard upon which the cheesecake is placed for packaging. Being of food grade, the cardboard would not have caused illness, but Rich’s does acknowledge that existence of this or any other foreign object is unacceptable and inconsistent with our commitment to product quality and safety. Consumer was offered the sum of $to compensate her for her out of pocket costs for her visit to the urgent care center (for which we received no documentation), and other costs, distress and inconveniences associated with having found the cardboard in the cheesecake. She has not returned the signed release and, therefore, the settlement check has not yet been issued. It is our belief that Rich’s offered reasonable compensation for this incident, having received no objective of any medical consequences despite our numerous requests for additional documentation
