I moved into a RF Miller Property in April of 2017. I’ve had a positive living experience with the landlord and her associates. Elissa was always polite and professional even at times where I didn’t display the same behavior. Dan, the lead maintaince tech is rude but whatever needed to be fixed was always fixed in a timely manner. They always had someone follow up to make sure everything was fixed. The house I’m renting is in a great area and for the price it’s a really great deal. It’s easy to pay rent through Paylease and someone always gets back to you quickly if you ever have a question. Overall, RF Miller is great to rent from.
I am the mother of 7 who wrote the positive review for R.F. Miller Properties and outside Elissa M I have never had anyone treat me with nothing but respect and kindness. My kids father passed causing a tremendous hardship in my finances. I received help from my job to cover expenses and my rent, food and other household expenses were covered. In email correspondence I was told that I would have a one time exception for my rent being late... Believe me when I tell you adhere to the paperwork. Unfortunately, I found myself in a bind when my rent was delayed one week due to my pay period. I fought tooth and nail trying to keep my place. I was told I would charged $330 a day until the court date and borrowed against my 401k to make R.F. Miller whole. I had every last cent that was needed to keep my place. The judge never looked at my paperwork and I was told I had to leave. I went so far as to file an appeal and put my funds in escrow and was never giving a chance to go before the Magistrate all the while just trying to hold on to my home. I eventually lost and found myself displaced once again. I had to go back to court about 3 more times before the escrow would be released and I signed it all over to R.F. Miller Properties. I was in contact with R.F. Miller properties and was told by Elissa I would need to build up my credit and have a past landlord history (although they were my last landlord and the application mentions nothing about credit) before I could submit another application. So times moves on and my children and I are staying in my daughters 2 bedroom when I finally paid the balance in full. I was so excited that I submitted an application on behalf of myself, my husband and my son. I am the bread winner and and need to pay the application fee out of my account. I received an email stating I was approved and was super elated. A gorgeous home, perfect in size and not to bad of a location. It tore me up inside to find out I had been denied because I failed to mention Henry having an eviction. I called and spoke to Elissa and couldn't believe the way she spoke to me, if I had been a weaker individual I might've taken a bad turn. She told me I was a liar and she would never in the existence of my life rent to me. I tried to explain to her that when it comes to evictions I had them not Henry, however he was listed on one from over 10 years ago. At that point in my life Henry and I had been going through so much that I lost track of when he would move in or out of the home. I did include his criminal record, but never once thought to look up his rental history. I mean what man (black) isn't usually laid up with some woman. I conveyed that it was just simply an oversight an egregious error. I was literally begging for her forgiveness. She was correct in saying that maybe he should've filled out his own portion of the application, but she was incorrect with calling me a liar. The way she said it was like she hated me and it hurt bad. I tried to explain to her they were completed while at work and I would be more than willing to pay another application fee and have Henry complete it himself. She totally hurt my feelings by making me feel less than, WHICH IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT. I do not have any ill feelings against her for I do not know her. I do know that I am not a liar, I make great money, I have received another promotion on my job and due to my character and the goodness in my heart I was asked to become an Ambassador for one of the Business Resource Groups within my place of employment (***) and all this in less than 2 years. I have found a home but it doesn't compare to the homes that R.F. Miller have to offer. Maybe one day I can convince Elissa to meet me for coffee and get her to see she is certainly wrong about me. Until I would still recommend them... Just adhere to your lease!
