While Resume-Now provided me with the capacity to build solid resumes and cover letters, this review concerns their billing practices, which although not illegal are just plain shady--something a good neighbor would not do So, this review simply serves as a "buyer-beware." In the process of building my resumes and cover letters, I must have inadvertently signed up for their "premium service." While I don't recall doing so--i.e., my hunch is that I clicked through to download a resume, did not read the associated fine print--I found myself months later looking at my credit card bill and realizing that I had been being charged $39.80/month
With my call to their Customer Service number, I was able to cancel only the latest monthly charge and discontinue the service, but not before listening to an agonizingly long litany of offers/counter-offers to keep me on their monthly billing cycle, even down to $4.95/mo
While ultimately "my bad" for enriching them by about $this year (while thinking I was only being charged $here and there for 10-day increments of their service--I suppose if I combed through my emails from them I could find the fine print that stated I was essentially adding them to my payroll), it's just a LOUSY way of doing business, the kind of thing that drives me crazy because of its under-handedness Where are the businesses with integrity on the internet?
