Working. In my home caught by the fire
Excellent job and my family very happy very professional people and we really thankful to Robert he is very nice person he know how to handle every thing hopefully you have more people in your company like Robert my home is so beautiful nice job

Overall I was happy with my experience. Augie And Dave were very helpful during the whole process. I had a fire in my home and I'm happy to wake up to a new home that I can enjoy. I would definitely recommend Restore for fire repair and reconstruction.

Restore Restoration is a wonderful company to call when you have a emergency. They was there to help a us thru a very sad time in our life. we need our house boarded after a major fire. After calling numerous companies to come and board the property only Restore Restoration came right away. They are swift courtesy, and very caring. They were the right company to call.

We had a complete rebuild with this Co Restore Construction 7 yrs ago. The house is falling apart.
Many attempts to call with no response, after several un- meet promises we still have a continued leak in the roof that has not been fixed, which they claimed they repaired within warranty and was not properly done. now they want us to pay for Appraisal and work to be completed.

After some serious flooding on the NW side, Patrick and the team at Restore saved the day. We called Restore when our basement got a foot of water. Patrick came out and checked out the danage and walked us through the insurance process. A little while later an entire team was on scene, sucking up water cutting out carpet and drywall packing up everything that could be saved and usung the biggest dehumidifiers I have ever seen. And they handled dealing with our insurance with work starting 3 days later. They really made a terrible day bearable. Tremendous experience with Restore

Restore was very easy to work with. Staff was thorough and prompted. They came out within days, at a great price. I definitely would recommend the use of this company for any deep cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing of their facility during the COVID-19 pandemic. A +++++

Restore Construction was called out to clean and sanitize our village hall and our community center during the COVID 19 out break. They brought out a team of five certified crew members who cleaned our buildings in a timely and professional manner. They cleaned walls, floors, tables and chairs in both buildings. Members of my staff were totally satisfied with the services provided.
I recommended Restore to several of my friends who plan on using them as well.

Restore recently completed a water damage repair project at my home. Unfortunately, we experienced a pipe burst while on vacation, which caused damage to our 1st floor and basement. We were devastated when we came home to see the damage. We immediately called our insurance agent who recommended Restore. I could not be happier that he did so. Restore's techs were at my house within an hour of my call to perform emergency mitigation services. They ripped out all of the wet building materials, cleaned, sanitized, and installed drying equipment. They were very professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly. I then worked with a different team for the repairs. The construction crew was fabulous. They promptly addressed my what seemed to be hundreds of questions and eased my mind. Their craftsmanship was impeccable. The house looks even better than it did before the pipe burst. Restore also worked with my insurance company, which was a huge help since I had never filed a claim before this occurrence. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend Restore to anyone who experiences water damage like I did.

Nobody thinks it can happen to them, but when it does it's nice to know that Restore has your back. Had a devastating fire at my home. As I watched the firemen putting out the fire I had no idea what I was up against. Once fire was controlled, I was approached by a Restore representative who offered to board up what was left of my destroyed home. While boarding up the burnt shell, we talked about the fact that Restore can re-build the home. I took him up on the offer. It was completely gutted and 9 months later I had a completely new beautiful home. From the day of the fire to the day I moved back in, Restore was there and came through for my family & I. Can't thank them enough!!!

Restore delivered top notch service during a very busy time. We called them mid-day after a big rain storm and they dispatched a crew very quickly to come mitigate the water we had in our basement. The crew was very thorough and meticulous when it came to helping to move furniture, removing our floors, mitigating the water that was under the floor boards and then setting up all their equipment for dry out. I would highly recommend Restore in the future to family and friends who need mitigation services.

Restore Construction certainly made the experience of having a home fire & everything that goes with it much more manageable all the way around.
The board up crew were right there to secure my home.
The owners sat me down & took the time to explain the process even though I was in a state of shock.
The pack out crew...they handled my belongings with the utmost respect. Most of them were there finishing up as I continued to sift through personal papers. The gals hugged me tightly before I left & told me it was all going to be ok as I cried in their arms.
Staff would come to our temporary apt to drop off/pick up paperwork instead of us having to travel out to them.
It was a hellish ordeal that I don't wish upon anyone. Between weather, issues with permits/inspections from our town, I was calling/following up with the office. Anyone that I'd spoken with listened with compassion & answered my questions kindly. There were times where I just needed to vent & cry. They took the time to allow me to do that more so than they probably should have.
I was having such a difficult time because the inspections were taking so long that during one meeting I could only shake & cry. I had a friend with me & Restore allowed me go through my little breakdown & made sure my friend all the specifics. It was almost a year & a half & I was out of my mind. We'd moved 5x by the time we got back in our home & in all that, Restore & their crews hung in there with me, holding me up with kindness & respect.
They contracted a wonderful Dry Cleaner & the contractors that finished off my house did an excellent job. If you're on the northside, you'll probably get *** & I would definitely ask for ***. I'm grateful that Restore partners with these wonderful companies!
I feel that Restore Construction took very good care of us & am grateful for how they put up with me in my extreme emotional state, treating me with respect & kindness. I won't ever forget that.

Restore did a great job for us after the fire in our building. I appreciated most of all the quick responses to my calls, how they handled so many matters with the owners and resolved issues, dealt with the insurance company, and the quality of their work was excellent. A great company to work with, very trustworthy, and were an immense help to us throughout the whole process.

Thank you for the positive review, Mark! The team here at Restore Construction, Inc. is thrilled to hear your good feedback. We always strive to exceed our customers' expectations.

This is my 2nd complaint about this company. the first was with the dept. of Insurance of Illinois.
not much was done after that compliant. the father of the owner of Restore One happens to Sit on the board if directors. or did at the time. so obviously nothing was done.
I attempted to make a claim, emailed 4/15/19. and I am still waiting for a phone call. this is ridiculous!!!!!!
My original complain was the lack of professionalism in reconstruction of my house. Bad paint jobs thru out the house. cracks on the wall from the dry wall. almost in every room. I moved in with out a countertop. the air conditioning didn't go up to the third floor. By the way I had to get that fixed myself and was told I would be compensated and as of today nothing. I bought a living room set that was painted on by restore one and again I haven't been compensated.
The Owner Mike *** cut me out a check in November of 2018 for $7000 and sent me a copy of it thru text but I never received that check. That was the figure we agreed on to pay for some faulty work and the cleaning of the furniture, some mini blinds and again payment for the air conditioning repair.to be fair. they sent some plumbers the other day.

This was resolved with the homeowner prior to the compliant.

Thank you.

The Restore Construction team did not let me down. My mother and I were out of town during the Arctic Frost and a neighbor called stating there was water streaming from my unit into theirs. I phoned my daughter who referred Restore Construction to me. Within a 1/2 hour they were on their way to my condo. The clean up was quick and they worked tirelessly into the evening and the next few days. I also want to impress upon the fact that given the circumstances, AND being 1300 miles away, I couldn't have felt more comfortable. Fernando was patient and professional. He communicated to me through the job in a very calm manner. I highly recommend this company.

Restore Construction has failed to complete the repairs on our home in accordance with the contract they signed with us. They performed work on our home which was not requested or agreed to and billed us for this work. They installed materials that were defective as well as inferior to what was defined in the contract. Attempts have been made to resolve this matter with Restore including providing detailed information to them regarding the repair issues and they have failed to provide a revised invoice so that proper payment may be made.

They have altered pricing from what was originally agreed to, billed us for work that was not authorized, and did not provide pricing that was reviewed or approved by us. They have failed to deliver and/or install certain items, left a potential code violation for work that was completed that was not requested. Installed windows without obtaining all the proper permits and installed one incorrectly.

Restore has been notified and advised of items that have not been delivered, installed as well as those items where defective and/or where inferior products were installed from the contract specifications. They have refused to remedy these issues and stated that all work has been done in a workmanlike manner.

One window was installed incorrectly, siding was attached with finish nails and is loose and the architectural detail of the home altered. The wood flooring is buckling and loose, defective boards were installed and proper installation methods were not used.

Restore is withholding detailed receipts, and invoices for materials purchased, a list of sub contractors who performed the work, warranty information and their insurance information.

We have also filed a complaint with the attorney general regarding unfair and deceptive practices of this company. They have failed to respond to our requests to review our issues and maintain that they completed all the repairs.

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in response to the consumer complaint we received from Michael and Zoe *** (“***”). We would first like to express how perplexed we are by the receipt of this complaint. We completed the repairs as per the contract executed, obtained occupancy from the Village of Bolingbrook after passing all necessary inspections, and are still owed over $100,000.00. We feel that we have been intentionally taken advantage of and still do not know how much *** is willing to pay for the work already completed. We made countless good faith attempts to schedule a meeting with *** to resolve their concerns and inquire as to when and how we would get paid to no avail.

Restore Construction, Inc. (“Restore”) has been in business for 35+ years and has completed approximately 10,000 fire restoration projects over the years. We are A+ with the Revdex.com and have a 4.6-star rating on ***. We have hundreds of positive reviews from previous customers that substantiate our superb workmanship and credibility. Additionally, thousands of insurance agents throughout the Chicagoland area recommend Restore for their clients’ disaster restoration needs. In fact, we were ***’s largest contractor in the Midwest Zone when they had the Preferred Service Provider (“PSP”) program in place.

As we do with all our customers, we accommodated ***’s countless requests, including allowing her to be the lead with her mortgage company, which is atypical for us. We had to finance the project and are still owed over $100,000.00 for work that has been completed for nearly six months. Restore and *** entered a contract on 12/1/17, not 5/10/18 as *** lists in the complaint. A change order was executed on 5/10/18. Additionally, the purchase price *** included within the complaint is erroneous. The price related to the contract executed between Restore and *** was the total amount of the insurance proceeds on the building claim. Restore and *** subsequently executed a Customer Change Order Agreement in the amount of $7,154.06. *** signed the *** Window bid in the amount of $8,976.67 and *** invoice in the amount of $2,250.00 as a change order, too.

Restore commenced content removal/disposal and interior demolition on 1/17/18, and we did not receive the first disbursement until 4/10/18. After looking back, we feel *** deliberately delayed payments so that they could have financial control to put them in a better position in the end to not pay for what they had received. We feel we have been deceived since we were working in good faith to satisfy the time constraints *** put on us. They basically asked us to complete the impossible being that we were always negative in terms of cash flow; we did not receive disbursements as we typically do.

Moreover, Restore experienced difficulties in communicating with ***. Zoe *** was verbally abusive to Restore’s staff members. She repeatedly yelled and used profanity when talking to the staff members. Katie *** requested she be removed from her responsibilities related to ***’s project after countless hostile phone calls from Zoe ***. Certain employees, who have collectively been with the company for nearly twenty years, even threatened to quit because of the way Zoe *** treated them. We devoted more resources to the ***’s fire repair than to the other projects that we were simultaneously completing; this was done to accommodate *** and complete the repairs in an expeditious manner. Our employees always made themselves available to ***, including after hours and on weekends. Zoe *** was always treated with respect; her hostility was totally unwarranted and uncalled for.

To this date, we still do not understand ***’s agenda and for what they are looking. *** sent us the spreadsheet referenced in her complaint, which verifies the full scope of work was completed. *** feels that the work was not completed properly, but the mortgage and insurance companies paid out based upon the work being complete. We passed all necessary inspections with the Village of Bolingbrook and received occupancy. Monies are clearly owed for the work completed. As far as we know, it is illegal for an insured to profit from a fire loss.

Through our rebuttal and the facts provided, we hope that you can understand we did not do anything to defraud or harm the consumer. If you require any additional information from Restore, please do not hesitate to contact our office at .

Regards,
Restore Construction, Inc.

Customer Response • Mar 24, 2019

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

We are rejecting the business’s response. Their response fails to address the issues and concerns raised. Restore Construction is in receipt of a $72,268.50 check that they are refusing to endorse and return to us so we can subsequently endorse it and send to our mortgage company for processing. Our mortgage company, like most FNMA/FHLMC servicers, has a clearly defined process which includes agreement that the work is complete and that we are satisfied. Our mortgage company has been advised of our concerns regarding the repairs that have not been completed and the damages sustained to our home. In addition, our insurance company recommended that we maintain control of the monies. Our lender has a restricted escrow account established to process funds and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved. This account currently has $16,909.81. While Restore states this process is atypical for them when dealing with mortgage companies, it is not atypical for others in the industry. In fact, most loan servicers who service loans for the government agencies have required controls in place both to ensure repairs are done and when funds may be disbursed to protect the borrower from unethical restoration companies that take insurance proceeds without completing the required work. The outstanding items and issues with the repairs have been communicated to our mortgage servicer who is holding the restricted escrow funds.

We have provided a link so you can judge for yourself the quality of materials and workmanship that was performed to repair our home. Hit Control and Click the link below. If you are unable to click this link to open the *** photo album, copy and paste into your browser.

The issues are as follows:

1. Restore Construction has not completed the project per the executed contract.

2. They installed inferior and defective materials in the home and also damaged areas of our home.

3. They claim that they had all inspections completed, yet the Village of Bolingbrook’s inspector came to our home after we moved in and stated that the windows were never inspected by the Village and a window permit was required. Further, Restore was advised by the insurance adjuster that the windows would require an inspection. No window inspection was completed.

4. Restore Construction stated that the living room window, which was installed incorrectly by them, was out of scope. This is inaccurate. The change order dated 5/10/18 included installation of this window & the *** Window invoice for $8,976.67 included this window. The living room and dining room windows were the same dimension and were installed correctly prior to the fire by the original builder. Restore Construction did not install the living room window correctly, it is out of plumb.

5. The monies for the *** Window invoice were paid by us via credit card and NOT by Restore. They are not owed monies for this. The *** invoice was $383.21 over the original quoted amount included in the change order dated 5/10/2018.

6. Restore Construction is not interested in resolving this matter and has indicated that all the work has been completed. Restore Construction has yet to produce an accurate invoice for proper payment to be made. Instead they are attempting to further cloud the issue by producing several documents claiming what we owe them, each with a different dollar value.

After our insistence, the owner of the company, Patrick ***, Sr., Augie ***, Chris *** & Michael *** met at our home on or about July 19th to discuss the drywall issues. It was agreed that this was not up to par. We were also assured at this time that we would have a full crew 5 days per week and a ½ day on Saturday to get the home completed. Patrick ***, Sr. said Chris would be at the property three times per week and Michael *** once per week to oversee project progress. We were also promised a timeline for completion, a daily 4:00 PM phone call from Chis *** to update us on the day’s progress. The day after the meeting with Patrick Sr. there was no phone call and this behavior continued throughout the project and we did not receive a further timeline for the completion date. We continued to have issues with work not being done or corrected.

Chris *** is either inexperienced or was negligent in his duties as a project manager. He was made well aware of all our concerns – during the repair work, prior to the scheduled final inspection by the bank, and during the time the bank inspector visited the property. *** failed in his duties as a project manager when the home was left unsecured in excess of a dozen times during the repair work, including one occasion where the key was left in the front door lock. We made numerous attempts to have Restore remedy the issues prior to the final bank inspection and followed up with emails to no avail. Numerous calls and emails were sent to Restore Construction in attempt to get resolution from them on the outstanding items. Michael *** stated they have completed everything and it was done in a workmanlike manner and that their invoice is accurate.

It is amazing to us that Patrick *** Sr. can be a board member for the Revdex.com and conduct his business in such a fashion. After numerous attempts to verbally address our concerns with Restore Construction staff, we sent emails to them regarding outstanding items or items not done in a satisfactory manner. They did not produce a project schedule – we had to do this for them. We have made requests to them to review our comments regarding their invoice to which they claim is accurate; yet they have produced various documents with different amounts that we owe, each to a different party – one to us, one to their own legal counsel, one to the attorney general, one to the Revdex.com and one to the courts.

We are continuing to work with our mortgage lender to get to the bottom line. This is NOT what we are willing to pay, but what they are really owed, if anything, after deducting both the property damage inflicted by their laborers and the amount it will cost to redo the work that was done in a careless manner with defective materials and workmanship.

Sincerely,

Michael and Zoe

To whom it may concern,

Restore Construction has reviewed the consumer’s response dated 3/25/2019 and is still unclear as to what the client is seeking. We completed the job per the specifications, passed all city inspections, mortgage inspections and the insurance company released all the insurance proceeds based upon all the work being completed. Also, many of the issues raised by the client are inaccurate and erroneous. For example, we passed all inspections required by the Village of Bolingbrook, including the issuance of a “certificate of completion.” See attached.
Restore Construction has also reviewed the photos that the client had recently sent in their latest response. It is important to note that all of those photos are not final pictures and are also not entirely pictures of our workmanship related to our contracted scope of work.
With that said, the consumer had filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office that has since been dropped after we responded with the facts pertaining to the claim. Since the consumer has not responded to our numerous attempts to address their complaints. The client has also not signed off the insurance check and paid the change order monies owed. Unfortunately, we have been forced to file a lien and a lawsuit to collect our monies owed to us. The consumer was served with summons on March 18th and the case is now in the Will County courts. The case number is ***. Our attorney’s name is Gene *** and he can be reached at if you need further clarification for this matter.
We preferred to have resolved this case in a more amicable manner, but unfortunately it does not appear that this will be possible given the client’s lack of cooperation and disposition.

Regards,

Restore Construction

We are very happy with the work that was done in our building by Restore. We are also very happy with the Restore team that helped us through the process of rebuilding our house. We would recommend Restore to other people.

Restore Construction showed unparalleled interest in the well being of my family after a fire in our home. That is the major reason they were chosen over the vulture like companies the evening of the fire. They patiently gave us the days to thoroughly research the competency of Restore Construction. They came quite highly recommended. But that doesn't tell the story of their professionalism, patience, courtesy and superb service.
Augie ***, the first contact with Restore Restoration the umbrella company, made sure from the first evening that the family had comfortable shelter right after he had us taken to the hospital to find the only relative trapped in the fire. His ability to deal with people in crisis is impressive and he is the most patient professional I have ever met. His experience dealing with all facets of the process of putting life back together after a fire helped soften the disaster.
Michael *** who heads the construction leg of restoring homes and lives was extremely patient with us because we wanted to have our independent residential real estate inspector check all in wall construction and renovation before any wall was closed. His confidence in their work made that an easy yes and he scheduled those times while still staying on pace for the completion date. The inspector, that is a relative, was impressed. Many companies cut corner in his experience. Restore Construction does not.
While previewing construction details step by step in contract form, Pat ***, the owner of Restore Restoration made sure we were happy with the way things were planned. Particularly Restore is known for preservation of antique woodwork and Mr. kind and courteous manner made it clear to us he wanted us to be confident the crew would do everything reasonably possible to save what we all considered beautiful work in our home. It is easy to see why the whole company is full of professional and courteous personnel.
The only negative that came from dealing with Restore Restoration is I have come to expect the same level of memorable service from all service companies I have dealt with since. The superb level of service I had with Restore Restoration is hard to find.

I just want to say how happy we are with the work done by Restore Construction after the fire we had in the garage and the back of the house. Fernando and his crew were wonderful getting this house cleaned after the job was done. We want to thank Vince for coming by almost every day to check on the work. He made sure that everything was done the way we wanted it to be done. We would recommend Restore Construction to our friends and family. I also want to say thank you to Sue for taking care of my calls and answering my questions. Thanks to everyone.

We had a small fire in our home and Hired Restore Construction, So glad we did, Very Professional and very easy to work with, top notch company. We had no idea what to do after a Fire, Restore was with us every step of the way,,,
5 Stars in my book

Post fire in Jue 0f 2017, Restore was there to help me. They immediately started the "rebuilding" process with me and my son.
