The new homeowner is happy to pay the quoted fee for the proposal once the work is done, however the fireplace needs to be repaired to full working conditionThe whole point of having an inspection prior to buying a home is to find out what needs to be done to make sure the fireplace is in working conditionI myself stated this request when I called in for the inspection, the buyer herself stated this request when she called in for payment, yet we were still given a modified report that only stated "some" repairs that were neededAccording to the technician, even with the repairs stated on the inspection report the fireplace was still unusable without further repairThe transaction is closed therefore we are unable to go back on our inspection responseWhen the tech arrived to complete the quoted repairs he stated to myself, my client, and her husband that he allowed the seller to pick and choose what went on the reportThe only way to make it right is to repair the chimney to full working orderThe buyer is happy to pay what she was quoted, but anything above and beyond that we are asking that it is at the expense of Stars ChimneyThe buyer has also requested another tech perform the repairs because of the way she was treated by the previous technicianAttached are photos of the way the chimney was left by Stars- none of the work has been completed because the technician got upset with the homeowner and myself for questioning him about the inspection report and he packed up an left after having torn the fire box apartShe will be happy to arrange payment once the work is completed
