Our office spoke with these consumers on April 28, and again on April 29, 2016. At the time, they were under the impression that their hotel reservation in Miami had been cancelled. We were
quickly able to confirm that the reservation had not been cancelled. In March, they had booked a hotel room in Miami for the dates May through May 22, 2016. Nearly a month later they elected to add an additional night to the reservation. They were advised that there was a chance they may need to switch rooms for the final night, since it was not a part of the original reservation. A request was submitted to the hotel for the same room to be utilized for the entirety of the stay, however they were advised it is ultimately up to the hotel to accommodate the request. The only way to ensure they would remain in the same room was to cancel the separate reservations and re-book as one reservation, although that was not advisable due to a rate change since the original time of booking. We fully believe their mother in law simply misunderstood the booking agent. This was discussed during our phone conversation on April 29, 2016, yet the consumers still expressed their desire to cancel their purchase. They were instructed to submit documentation to our office, which has not been received to date. Once they submit the requested documentation we may proceed with a resolution
