To whom it may concern: The car was not returned when due. The charges were for the rental of the vehicle. We did have on file the proper paperwork authorizing use of the credit card for the charges. We received numerous calls from the customer harassing our offices. The money was due to our company...
and we had all of the proper paperwork to charge the credit card for the rental. The customer should probably speak to her daughter about the costs. They both need to take responsibility. You cannot just rent a vehicle and not pay for it. These alligations are ridiculous. We welcome a court date if the customer would like that. Marc F[redacted]

To Whom It May Concern:
I am instructing my insurance company to decline the claim issued by
Rent A Ride Company alleging damage to the Van that I rented.
My defense on this subject is based on the following:
On Wednesday, August 15, 2012 I returned the rental vehicle to Rent A
Ride. The following afternoon, August 16, 2012, after more than 24 hours
had passed, I received a phone call from Rent a Ride in Fulton, NY
stating that after the van had been washed they noticed scratches above
the passenger's rear wheel wall. My response to them was that when I
returned the van on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 a representative
of the company examined the vehicle and I accompanied her. After she
completed the inspection her statement to me was, "It looks good.
Everything is okay." When my wife came in to pick me up, the
representative
again said that everything was fine.
During the phone conversation between myself and the company
representative regarding the scratches, I asked if I could come to Rent a
Ride to see the scratches. I was told that the van had been taken to
another location. I asked her to call me with a time and location so that I
could personally view the scratches. No phone call was returned!
The van was returned on Wednesday August 15, 2012 and accepted by
the rental company. I was not notified of any damage until Thursday,
August 16, 2012, more than 24 hours later. As there was not any
damage
to the vehicle when I had the van and this was confirmed by the rental car
company when I returned the vehicle, the damage must have occurred
after the van was returned and in the company's possession.
In summary, once the van was returned, inspected and accepted, with
NO note of any damage by the rental company, my contract with them
expired. I and my insurance company are not liable as the damage had
to have occurred after the rental company took possession. The van was
not damaged when I had it and this was confirmed when the van was
returned examined. and accepted by the company representative who
said that everything was okay. Since more than 24 hours had elapsed
before I received a phone call. the damage had to have occurred after the
company took possession of the vehicle and moved it to
another location. Now they are trying to put that liability on me.
This is wrong and I want my insurance company to fight the claim against
me and my insurance company.
Respectfully.
I am requesting that an investigation by made regarding the following
matter:
