Incorrect advertising
Be careful of the sales pitch where they tell you that you get 1 year interest free. It might not be true. I just had 5 windows an one patio door replaced. My first bill arrived with an interest charged. When I called Greensky, I was told that's not what I was offered. I will incur an interest ( 7.99%) every month I carry a balance for the life of the loan...Good thing I had planned to pay off the entire amount one time

SCAMMERS!
10 years ago we had new windows put in, I think they lasted maybe a day, they are JUNK and now these same people coming back looking around our property, claiming this and that, if I get one more person or one more piece of crap in my mail, I am suing him and your entire company! You are a worthless company that should be put out of business ASAP!

Andersen Exterior Door
I am giving this one star because zero stars wasn't an option.  The Andersen Exterior Door was installed on December 2, 2021.  The door included a sidelight, and my sole reason for choosing this particular door combination was that it presented as a singular unit with no separation between the door and sidelight.  The Andersen sales rep was fully aware of this from the get-go. However, upon installation I was shocked to see a thick wood (possibly Azek) about 1-1/2" wide visually dividing the door from the sidelight.  Since the door is blue, the white strip was eye catching.  When I contacted my sales agent, he blamed supply chain issues as the cause, and promised the problem would be corrected before Christmas.   Suffice it to say that the correction was not made until mid-February, 2022, and there was a lot of angst (mine) during that time.
Additionally, there have been numerous problems with the locking mechanism.  Andersen did send a service person to address the problem, but he didn't fix it.  The lock was totally unreliable.  At one point, I couldn't open the door from inside the house.  Another call was placed to Andersen, and a repair person was again supposed to come, however, on the sceduled date, I was told the repair person was delayed and couldn't come until 7pm and asked if I wanted to reschedule for the following day? At that point, I asked what time on the next day would the repairman arrive, and was told 3pm so I said the 7pm time on the current day would be fine.  Upon hearing this news, Andersen magically found a repair person who could come at 3pm on the present day.  When that person arrived, he did the usual quick fix, but before he could enter his car we saw that the problem remained.  He returned to the house, and after a few minutes said he would have to replace the lock - however, since they didn't have any in stock this could take up to 6 weeks.  Note: Andersen is a Window and Door Co. - how could they not have a lock?  During this time we are not using the front door for fear we will either be unable to lock or open it again.

I also showed this person a small spot where there is no paint on the door.  His answer was to give me a fingernail polish sized bottle of paint and left.  This is unacceptable.  The door cost $8,000 which, in my world, is significant. I am concerned that the exterior paint will not hold up.  And worse, I do not have confidence that Andersen will  stand behind the product or their warranty.  A primary reason for selecting  Andersen in the first place was its reputation for quality and now my faith is shattered. Perhaps a 93(A) letter?

I am a long time Andersen customer. Every window in my house is Andersen. After every installation I was told if I had any problems or needed a replacement part to call their Service Department.
June 29: I called the Service Dept. and left a voicemail to request a replacement for a torn screen.
July 01: Scott from the Service Dept. called me and left a voicemail saying it would be $115 for the screen and $125 for the “trip charge”. I called back and left a voicemail asking why I would need to pay a trip charge, but he didn’t return my call.
July 08: I called and spoke to Jim from the Service Dept. He said the trip charge would only be necessary if I wanted Andersen to install the screen. Otherwise they would mail the screen to their nearest warehouse and I would have to pick it up there. Before ordering the screen Jim said he would confirm the screen type and call me back. He never called.
July 14: I called and spoke to Scott again. He confirmed the screen type, and charged my credit card $115. He said he’d call me back when the screen was at the warehouse. He never called.
July 29: I called and left a voicemail with the Service Dept. No call back.
July 30: I called the main number and spoke to a concierge, Ryan. He told me Scott had left the company, that the screen should be at the warehouse by August 04, and they’d let me know.
August 06: I called the Service Dept. and left a voicemail. No call back.
August 07: I called the main number and spoke to Ryan again. He said he’d have someone call the warehouse and let me know. No call back.
August 11: I called the main number and spoke with Christina. I asked if she would put me on hold, check with the warehouse and let me know. She said no she couldn’t do that, but she assured me she’d check and call me back. No call back.
August 12: I called the main number and spoke with Johnson. After I explained the situation he said he was meeting with the Service Dept. in 15 minutes and would call me back. Later that day I got a call from Brandon who said the screen was at the warehouse. We agreed on a time for me to pick it up, and he said he would be sending me a survey to fill out. I drove to the warehouse and picked up the screen. As of August 15 I have not received the survey.
Something’s fundamentally wrong with a company that won’t mail you a replacement part, expects you to drive 42 miles to warehouse in the middle of a pandemic to pick it up, and refuses to return your calls to the Service Dept. even after they’ve charged your credit card.

Hi James, I'm sorry to hear of your poor experience with one of our stores. It looks like your zip code is in our Boston territory, not Minnesota. So, I'm happy to forward your comments along to the team in Boston right away so they can look into it.

Andersen windows are really nice, IMO some of the nicest replacement windows on the market. We like the “composite material a lot more than the vinyl windows the other manufacturers use. The design and features are first class.
Unfortunately the installation by Renewal by Andersen in Torrance, CA does not match the windows. We never even seen the “Project Manager” Rudy during or after the installation. The installers are bunch of amateurs. They are either not trained properly in the installation of Andersen Windows or they just don’t care about doing a good job and are not held accountable for the work they do. The miters on the corners are the worst I have ever seen. After the fact I discovered they had not installed a part that would have rectified the issue with the miters and I probably wouldn’t be writing this review.
And forget about customer service. They sent out a person (Micheal) when I complained about the installation, I show him my complaints, then I never heard from him again… or anyone else.
I recommend that you DO NOT buy windows from Renewal by Andersen in Torrance. I can not attest to how bad other Andersen sub-contractors are but if they are anything like these jokers, buy elsewhere.
DO NOT buy windows from Renewal by Andersen in Torrance. They do not stand behind their product or promises.

Hi Dennis, I'm very sorry to hear of your experience with a few of our installers. Looks like you're in California, not Minnesota. I will be passing along your comments to the team in Torrance right away.

Zero stars. After spending tens of thousands of dollars on RBA windows, product quality is poor and customer service and scheduling are, without a doubt, the worst I have ever dealt with. Full house windows installed one year ago and, when it rained, more than half of them leaked profusely inside our home. RBA replaced all the windows due to faulty manufacturing. Two of the new windows had black goo between the two sealed panes of windows. RBA is replacing with new again. Ordered in mid-May 2020 and it is now almost September and the windows have yet to be installed. Keep getting the run around and scheduling doesn't have a clue as to how to do their job. This company is an embarrassment and impossible to deal with. If you are looking for new replacement windows for your home, do not fall its advertising blitzes. Save your sanity and DO NOT hire RBA because you will be very disappointed!

We had Renewal by Andersen replace all our windows in our home almost 10 years ago and a problem arose. Rae W. did what she could by being the "spokesperson" for the office but the customer service with Renewal by Andersen is horrible. I would do 0 stars if I could. Once you're out of a workmanship warranty, they could care less about you, They already have their $18K. Our original salesman Chris M. was no help either with our current issue. I would like to post pictures but won't at this time. Lots of "you should hear from someone", "we've sent your info to our team", but you never hear from anyone. We originally contacted them in September of 2019 and didn't hear from anyone until July of 2020.

We had renewal by anderson install 9 windows a year ago. To this date they have been out 5 times to attempt to stop our windows from air blowing thru them and whistling. Although it has helped some we still are having issues and have preformed tests they told us to do. I was asked to video tape a paper towel test..hang a strip by leak to see if it moves which it did on all windows and have sent it to them upon there request. Was very evident in video of movement. On there visits they have seen improper installation, flaws in design of window etc.. and they claim they have it fixed but it is not. I have visited and called the supervisor multiple times to try and get this issue resolved. The supervisor is Jeff Anderson and he always gives me same story that we will contact you and get somebody out there. Last time I talked to him was 10 days ago and was told they would be contacting me within a day or two and set up a time to look again at my situation, hasn't happened. Also, upon installation they required initial payment of $10,000 and upon completion the other $10,000 if satisfied with the work. There was a form to sign and send to them so they could get the rest of there money as I financed it thru there lending company.I never signed the form because we were not happy right away with wind and whistling noise. I still have the form but Renewal by Anderson went ahead and processed the consent form anyway and received the second half of there payment last October. I have talked to them 3 times about this and never get a phone call regarding this!

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

It is only satisfactory till we see if replacement of 1 window works as they suggest to see if window was not manufactured properly. If replacement does not fix the problem in that window they do not have an answer. All windows are causing problems but this is there 1st suggestion. if replacement fixes the problem with that window they will replace all supposedly. Also they have not addressed the issue of taking 2nd half of payment without my consent. It was financed thru there creditor and someone signed off to get payment. Have the contract that I did not sign stating.."If satisfied with with completed work I authorize Western Products to process my final payment". I never sent that certificate in with the release of final payment! This issue needs to addressed!

This company sends a lot of spam emails: several per week. They also send them from many different email accounts from many different domains, so there's no sense in trying to add them to a blacklist because the next spam email will just come from a completely different email. I don't know how the got my email.

I had a consult scheduled for Wednesday June 17th at 6:00 PM in my home, this was scheduled a week or so out. I got a call from them that morning to tell me that their sales consultant has a scheduling conflict that day and the earliest that they could get them out to me would be Friday June 26th. I told the person on the phone that this was not acceptable, that if it is this hard to get a sales person to sell me $40K worth of windows, how hard would it be to get someone out to fix a possible issue in the future when there is not money in it for them? Absolutely terrible customer service. I'll be looking into other companies to get done what I need.

I costs companies 2-1/2 times more to win a customer back then it does to keep or attract them in the first place.

I get tons of spam email from Renewal by Andersen under bogus email addresses. These don't stop and luckily most go to my spam folder but no legit company would/should allow advertising by spamming. I'm actually ready to get replacement windows but in no way would I even consider this company. I want the spam to stop!!!

I literally get 3 to 4 emails a day and they won’t stop. If you try to unsubscribe they will even bombard you with more emails. Calls to the company won’t help and they won’t stop the harassment. I will never ever purchase anything from this company so why the constant email harassment. What can be done to get this company to stop with the email harassments?

I have been receiving multiple spam emails daily from Renewals by Andersen (or affiliates) for as long as I remember. Thankfully, they go right to my Junk email inbox. The problem is that every couple of days I need to sift through this inbox to see if any legitimate emails are also there. Every time I have to sift through tons of spam. I do not dare to open one to attempt unsubscribing incase the link takes me somewhere that might infect my computer with a virus or worse.
Because Andersen allows these affiliates to continue their spam practice, I will never be able to trust them for future business.
Anderson needs to put a stop to this.
If anyone starts a class action suite to stop this, I will be happy to join it.

I am rejecting this response because:

That's all fine, and I thank you for that: However, I still get Emails from all different, strange addresses, so it's either a bot or someone is trying to make you look bad. I accept your response, but if I clicked that I would not have had a chance to respond. Thank You, Chris

The window image presented doesn’t match the finished window. Windows to be flush against each other when fully opened. After install locking features cause a gap
in center of window. I had to call to confirm appointment.
Installers damaged the surrounding area when cutting out the old window.
New windows go in and the left sash is faulty. The locking feature and gasket inserts were not manufactured correctly. Window doesn’t close. Bob inserted a tool in the window to close it.
Bob, Program Manager, said leave the window set a few days then it should be fine. Same issue days later. Interior window trim. Installers bring in trim which appears to be scrap from the back of the truck. Trim is not packaged, four pieces are dirty, gouged, and different colors. I brought this to Bob’s attention and he replied it’s just the lighting. The trim is installed and the damaged frame underneath was not repaired and is now visible.
Calling Andersen again, Dave comes to inspect the finished work He says why did they not repair the damage prior to nailing the trim and why is the trim not new.
Next appointment the send Orange Painting Company over to “Make this right”. Painter comes and asks why the used unfinished trim. This painting company finishes and packages trim for Andersen. It was another four hour process to clean, fill in damaged areas, sand smooth, and paint two coats of white paint. Left sash window still doesn’t close properly. Another inspection. A replacement sash is ordered. Appointment set for 5/15 Friday to replace window. Wednesday 5/13, I receive a call stating window is on back order with no delivery date. Appointment canceled. Next day Im told my window didn’t make it on the truck. It will be here on the 19th. Appointment set for 5/20 between 1 & 2. Its 5/20 at 12:35, they are running late. Window is replaced and it doesn’t close without force. Same closure issues.

Thank-you for contacting us in this matter. This complaint is most appropriately directed to Renewal by Andersen (of Chicago). This appears to be their customer and not an Andersen Windows, Inc. customer. I have sent this to the Renewal by Andersen of Chicago retailer for their response.

Renewal by Andersen Response • Jun 22, 2020

Good morning,

Per our Chicago office, we have tried to reach out to the customer to offer what we are willing to do to resolve this case, the
customer wants our respond via the Revdex.com website.3
options we discussed for resolution.Option
1) Reorder and Install a new 3 Panel Gliding unit. Reduction in contract
amount will be discussed upon completion and your satisfaction of the
installation. Option
2) Order and Install a Double Hung – Picture Window – Double Hung
Configuration. No additional charge to you and no reduction in contract
amount. Option
3) If you feel we cannot make this right by any of the options I presented
above, you would find another company to contract with. Once you set the
installation date with them you would let me know. They would remove our
window and I would pick it up and accept it as a return. Upon return of
the window we would cancel the contract and we would notify Greensky and
refund Greensky $6,374.00.

Thank you,

Customer Response • Jun 30, 2020

I am rejecting this response because:The window was installed crooked, the sash was already replaced, & the window still doesn’t lock or close properly. Renewal has already proven they cannot fix a brand new window after 7 additional trips to my home after the initial installation. They don’t care about resolving customer complains and still insist on a small cost reduction with no guarantee a brand new window will function correctly. I am going to make this right by giving this poor quality window back to Renewal. I have ordered the same design elsewhere. Renewal needs to arrange a crew to remove the window when the window replacement company is at my home. Both window suppliers need to be at my home before any work can begin. I expect my full $650.00 refund in hand from Renewal when they take my window back. I will confirm the date of installation once available.

The only other option that Renewal even offered was buy a different window design at a more expensive cost with no price reduction.

Future customers, make sure you contact and obtain multiple quotes on windows before buying. Research window manufactures and review options. Company reputations and quality changes.

Like other complaints on this Revdex.com website I have recently been plagued of junk mail from Renewal-By-Andersen that are cleverly designed to make it difficult or impossible to filter out using Microsoft Outlook tools. It is creating the impression that Andersen is a desperate, inept company that resorts to unsavory steps to drum up business and makes it very unlikely that I will ever consider them if I need new windows. Please stop the emails!
