Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/24) */
I sincerely apologize for your experience. We pride ourselves on providing homeowners with the best experience and I'm sorry this was not the case for you. Our door-to-door representatives are licensed and have permits to be in...
neighborhoods, however, if you are interested in being placed on our Do Not Solicit list, please send us your address to [redacted]@andersencorp.com or call us XXX-XXX-XXXX.
Again, I apologize and appreciate your feedback and consideration.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2015/07/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Wanting to not be disturbed by solicitation was my desired result. As far as I'm concerned the conflict is resolved under the condition that they don't knock on my door.
Thank You
I replaced all my Windows with RBA. I have had nothing but trouble with them. Every window leaks air. I have opened tickets several times and several times a couple windows were re-installed. This of course does nothing to stop the leaks. I have went as far as to install some felt in these windows myself to try and stop the leaks.
I called and spoke with their "new" GM [redacted]. He will not return my calls.
My bedroom windows allow rain to drip inside. I was assured by Renewal by Anderson that if the window's were of poor design or had any issues they would go straight to the manufacture to get them corrected. None of what your told is true or what is in their commercials on TV. My house if fairly new (2008) replacing my windows with RBA was a BIG mistake.
I reviewed the response made by the business and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.
The customer complaint is not supported by documents she signed or initialed at the time of the sale or afterthe technical measure. See attached. The order confirmation she signed on 5/18/2017 addresses color on several lines and Line 6 states "grille type, interior color, exterior color - exterior...
grille color will be same as exterior window color by default unlessotherwise noted."In addition, the window she looked at in the Showroom has a Canvas interior and Black exterior with ModifiedPrairie grilles between the glass that are Canvas on the interior and Black on the exterior side. This is standardin the window industry not specific to Renewal by Andersen. There are also several factors other than color that changed the look of her grilles. She changed the style ofseveral windows from Casements to Gliding windows. The screen is on the exterior of a Gliding window versusthe inside of a Casement which will reduce the detail appearance of the grilles. She also changed the style ofthe grille from Colonial to Modified Prairie. Modified Prairie is a more subtle appearance that naturally will nothave the same "pop" as Colonial grilles. We go out of our way to make sure the customer understands what color and style the customer has ordered. This is unfortunately a case where the customer was unhappy with her choice. We have offered a couple ofsolutions that she has not accepted.

Dear Ms. Mendez:
I am writing in response to your email dated June 30, 2014.
I sincerely apologize to Mr. and Mrs....
[redacted] for the lengthy delays and issues they encountered during their window and patio door replacement project. There were several errors that caused the delay in finishing their project. However, to date everything is corrected and the job is complete.
Since I became involved with this project I assured Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] that Renewal by Andersen would be responsible for any costs associated with removing and replacing the shutters, window trim painting and the faux finish on the family room walls. I also assured them that we would be respectful of their time while completing this work which involved multiple skilled trades. Mr. [redacted] and I discussed several scheduling opportunities for replacing the window, one of which was Sunday, and he was very open and agreeable. On July 1, 2014 I talked with Mrs. [redacted] and she agreed that the project was complete.
On July 3, Renewal by Andersen issued Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] a refund crediting their account in the amount of $2,035.00. This is in addition to the costs we have already paid associated with removing and replacing the shutters, window trim painting and the faux finish on the family room walls.
I trust that this letter will be a sufficient response to your request. If you have any further questions, please contact me directly.
Regards,
[redacted]

Installation Manager
Beware of solicitation notices left on your door by Renewal salesmen purporting to have observed defects in your windows and implying that serious problems could occur if they are not addressed. For instance, my notice claimed that the salesman observed cracked, broken, or inoperable windows (untrue), warping, binding, or difficult to close (untrue and impossible to discern from the exterior), loss of insulating glass (again, untrue and unmeasurable), and fog between the glass (untrue). This was simply a scare tactic made by an unqualified party with no basis in fact.
We had eight windows installed. The installers showed up on time, covered the floor paths in and around the work area and furniture. They worked quickly and efficiently and completed all work on time. The clean up was excellent like nothing had happened and then explained the workings of the windows to my wife and me.
The windows exceeded our expectations and we are so happy we decided to buy then. The installers were pleasant and seemed to enjoy their work which is evident by their superb craftsmanship..
Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: the trim on the inside and outside was apart of the original sale per their sales person. I was told I could have white trim with my purchase then later they recanted on it. They will need to do the outside trim too when the weather is better.Sincerely,[redacted]
Hopefully, the 7th time will be successful.
We had Renewal By Andersen come to give us a bid on a door and two windows on 24 July, 2015. Sales representative was[redacted] from their company. The salesman they sent to our home ruined my family room door. For some reason he threw his body on the door (with one lock engaged) and forced it open. He said a burglar could do the same. Except he didn't have the dead bolt engaged. The salesman ruin my door and now it won't close and lock. What is wrong with their company?

Thank you in advance.
We actually did caulk the windows and did provide the customer the $200 refund that they...
requested.
This was all done back on 6/26/14.
Our advertising was for buy 4 get one free. The free window was for the lowest cost item. The discounts we provided to the customer were greater than the ONE free window.
The issue was resolved on 6/26/14 and according to the customer they were satisfied with the resolution.
Signed a contract to purchase some windows. Also asked about replacement screens for existing Anderson windows. Our salesman measured for them and assured me he would order them. He would get my credit card info very soon, place the order, and then have the screens installed at the same time as my new windows. Never returned by calls after he walked out the door. The new windows were about $15,000. The replacement screens were a little over $500. He didn't want to bother to order the screens. He shouldn't have pretended he would order them for me and have them installed. I finally ordered them on my own and am now waiting for my almost 65 year old husband to install them. Some of the windows are second story windows. Everything went well with the new windows but just don't believe any promises that your salesman makes beyond the contract. Also, called the customer service number and no one called me back. It was only after I called them again that the customer service rep actually ordered the screens for me.
Great team effort! Showed up on time and worked late to get the job done! Neat and they didn't take a lunch break. Conscientious, polite, and efficient workers. And the windows are gorgeous! We would recommend them to anybody, no problem!
We decided to replace our 20 plus year old door with Renewal by Andersen in December. Our original door was foggy and the wood frame was damaged from rot. 5 years ago, we had a handyman do repairs to the frame but it didn't work very well and decided replacement was how we wanted to move forward. One of the main reason we decided to go with Renewal was the convenience in the replacement process. They laid out all our options and helped us pick the custom package we wanted. From there, they handled everything from ordering to installation. We liked that we didn't have to coordinate the details or track down alternative options. The installation crew was careful not to scratch or ding when putting in the door and made sure paint did not spatter. I would describe the overall service as careful, conscientious, and expert.
We replaced 11 windows and 1 door with Renewal by Andersen. We have always wanted Andersen windows in our home and we finally decided to get them when we realized our windows were loosing their energy efficiency. [redacted] who came out to give us quote was friendly and professional and we were very impressed with the installation men, especially [redacted]. [redacted] and the rest of the Renewal team worked hard to complete the project and to our specifications. [redacted] specifically was very good to work with because he was accommodating and he tried to do everything to make us happy. We are very pleased with the service we received with Renewal by Andersen
We were first acquainted with Renewal by Andersen when a nice man came by our door to set an appointment to give us a quote to replace our windows. At that point we weren’t in the market to buy windows yet, however about 2 weeks later, we decided to visit the Renewal by Andersen warehouse. It was great to touch and feel the windows to visualize what they would look like in our home. After our visit to the warehouse, we decided to get a quote. I’ve worked in sales before and was hesitant to invite a salesman to my home with the fear he would be pushy. However, the sales process with [redacted] was impressive and we did not feel pressured at all! We purchased because we had the option of keeping the look of the original windows while getting the benefits of the wood composite window. The installation crew was very nice and on time. They covered everything from the walls to floor to catch the dust and debris. They were very considerate of my home which made me very happy! Installation didn’t even take a full day! We couldn’t believe they installed the windows as quickly as they did. Since we’ve replaced, the heat and cool stay in our home and the windows open much easier in comparison to our older windows. We were impressed all the way from the sales process to the installation and will definitely replace the rest of our windows in the future with Renewal by Andersen.
Renewal by Anderson arrived on time. They walked thru to verify each window. They took time to protect our furniture and carpet. Every one had a job to do and every thing went well. Walk thru upon completion . We are very pleased with the end result. Our windows are beautiful easy to use. If we had any more windows to replace renewal by Anderson would be our choice!!!!.
The salesman was very polite, kind, and nice and worked to get me a discount. Installation was quick and in 1 day. The door was delivered in the time Andersen said it would be even though it was the holiday season. The installation crew didn't leave any debris, and cleaned up nicely after the installation. Since the new door was installed, it is quite a bit quieter and blocks out the neighbor's lawnmower and other noises.
We chose to go with Renewal by Andersen because we knew the Andersen name and what they stand for. We know they back the product. By putting in Andersen windows, we knew it would add value to our home, which was important to us. We felt as though we got our money's worth since the windows added value and beauty to our home. We are happy with all aspects of the windows and love the way they operate. We were also happy that the installers were specifically Andersen trained installers and not just contractors. The installers were very professional and worked well with our schedule. It was great they worked around our blinds so we didn't have to remove them. We were very satisfied and the process was effortless.
