Review: I received in the mail a "credit card" looking card with my name and business name on it with an activation number. I have never gotten in touch with this company and Have a strict policy of never dealing with businesses outside of my city let alone a business in California. I feel this is an unethical way of marketing to businesses and I resent it immensely. I am filing this complaint with you the Revdex.com of San Diego to protest this vile way of soliciting business.Desired Settlement: I want my business and individual names removed from any further mailings/contact from this company permanently. Additionally, this company should NOT be allowed to solicit business in this manner.

Response:
On 1/13/2014, our Director of Marketing reached out to Mr. [redacted] with the following email and has removed his company and name from all further solicitations.
Dear Mr. [redacted],
I am responding
to your complaint written to the Revdex.com regarding Reliant
Services Group and the mailing you received. I have removed your
information from our system for future mailings and solicitations. I
apologize for any inconvenience our solicitation has caused you.
Sincerely,
Review: We received a Business Cash Card in the mail. It has been issued, over our company name, to a person that not only does NOT work for our company but who's name is unknown to any of us. So reading similar complaints, this company is so FAR from "…a compliant company with a process that goes to great lengths to identify the applicant from first inquiry to funding.", as they claim in responses to similar complaints. Frankly, we are incensed at the audacity of this company to outright issue a card in our company's name! We will take this to the local police as well. We don't expect much from them but perhaps some direction so operations like this are stopped.Desired Settlement: Stop fraudulently issuing accounts without authorization.

I am responding to your complaint written to the RevDex.com regarding Reliant Funding and the mailing you received. I
want to assure you that the mailing you received is for a solicitation
only. The account is not valid without your consent.
Reliant Funding would not initiate a loan or credit line on
your behalf without your consent and a very stringent identification
process. The mailing is a solicitation for a product. We are a
compliant company with a process that goes to great lengths to identify the
applicant from first inquiry to funding. The application process does not
begin without the account holder's consent. We will not extend funding to
anyone without minimally receiving the information below:

Response:
I didn't quite get how to respond further to the business in question, there was no response/contact info on their message response to me. The problem is they state that they would not open an account without a photo id. If a person, representing that individual name on the card, showed a photo id, it still a problem. The person has no affiliation with our company. Any suggestions?
Business
Response:
Our verification process is quite intense and may include:
Review: We received a Credit/Cash Card from this company without requesting it. The card listed a person on it that we do not know and furthermore has no affiliation with our company. Did a person with this name request a card for our company; if not, where did this company get this information? We do not like the fact that this card came through the mail with our company name on it and could have been sent to anyone(maybe the name that is listed on it.) who would try to use it in our company name. In our experience, when you request a service, some sort of authorization is required from an AUTHORIZED person. As per your website, this company has done this in the past and has had complaints about it. Their marketing practices leave a lot to be desired in our estimation.Desired Settlement: At the very least, a written apology needs to be issued for this unwarranted intrusion, and we need to be assured that our company will no longer be on any further marketing lists from them.

I am in receipt of the letter from Reliant Funding, but still have questions about the person that was listed as being the go-to person for my business. They have not explained where they got that information. I would like to know what list that came from.(They said that they purchased lists.)Regards,

Response:
Equifax was the source of the list.
Review: *The above "primary nature of your compliant" selected was the closest available to my actual compliant.*
My actual compliant about this company is the matter in which they are soliciting business, which is HIGHLY unethical and should NOT be allowed.
Our family business (T[redacted] has been sent via USPS a line of credit credit-card (an official credit card, not a promo-fake) with our business name (as well as my husband's name) and an account number with a phone to call to activate the card. My problem is that we have NO relationship with this company and have NOT requested this card or line of credit (NOTHING) from them, as well as, have NEVER even heard of them. I believe this method of soliciting business for this type of business is EXTREMELY unethical and dangerous for the unknowing potenital victim of financial ruin! If this mailing fell into the wrong hands, it could be devistating.Desired Settlement: We want our business and individual names removed from any further mailings/contact from this company permanently. Additionally, this company should NOT be allowed to solicit business in this manner.

Review: An activation for a pre-qualified business cash card in amount of $100,000.00 is alleged to have been requested by my company. All I need do is telephone number to activate cash card. I have never contacted Reliant Funding and requested cash card. I have worked tirelessly to protect my credit, and handle my finances with extreme care. I find this practice by Reliant Funding to be irresponsible and careless with my company name and reputation by sending a postal service message which may easily be intercepted.Desired Settlement: Never again use my company name or any of my other business names to solicit for credit cards, cash cards, cash advances, etc. Do not make any attempt to contact myself or any of my businesses.

The US Mail you received was a solicitation only. Based on publicly available list sources, your business was among those pre-qualified to discuss a potential funding amount.

Review: Like other complaints listed here, I am complaining about the deceptive business solicitation our company received in the form of a credit card.My boss received an unsolicited "Business Cash Card" from Reliant Services Group that looks deceptively like a credit card. He had no recollection of requesting the card, so he assigned me to investigate. The solicitation is very deceptive. It is made out to look like a real credit card that you requested. Here's some similarities: 1.) the return address on the envelope only has the address on it like a credit card company's. "Reliant Services Group" is not listed anywhere on the envelope. 2.) Inside the envelope is a letter with a credit card attached to it. The letter reads: "Your New Reliant Cash Card Has Been Issued" and "Congratulations! Your new Reliant Cash Card is enclosed. You can now get immediate access to cash for your business... fast and easy." 3.) The credit card looks real, down to the magnetic strip on the back. The only thing missing is the Visa/MC hologram. Only if you read the fine print on the back, do you find out that it's not real. It says "The Reliant Business Cash Card is not a credit card. It is a membership card issued by Reliant Services Group." However, the card looks and feels real. It is not made of the cheap flimsy plastic that most credit card solicitations are made of (like American Express card offers that includes a fake card with "Your Name" and the account number "[redacted]"). The card we received from Reliant has my boss' name and our company name stamped into it like a real card. What worries me is that the card looks real even if it is not. It was unsolicited, and has a credit line of $100,000 pending activation. What if someone stole our mail, found the credit card, activated it with a phone call, and tries to open up loans with it or even manages to buy things with it?Reliant should not send out cards with their solicitations.Desired Settlement: Please remove [redacted], Institute-[redacted] from Reliant's mailing list, and close any account that may have been set up in [redacted]'s name.I also request that Reliant reconsiders their deceptive advertising practices. Trying to attract customers this way is not ethical and should be stopped. It's only a matter of time before someone files a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs or Attorney General.

Review: I received in the mail an unsolicited credit card with a $500,000 credit line. If this mail was intercepted or opened by another person, they could have easily activated this card and had $500,000 credit under my name. This is irresponsible and this practice must end. I am requesting a response by this company stating they will desist in this action. In addition I request removal from their mailing list,. Failure to do so will result in notification of the State of New York Attorney General Office of this business practice.Desired Settlement: Stop practice of mailing unsolicited cash cards. Remove my name from your mailing list.
Business
Response:
The US Mail you received was a solicitation only. The card in the mailer represents the concept of getting funds for business. As it says on the card, it is not a real credit card.
Review: [redacted] from Reliant Funding reached out to me regarding funding for my business. I let her know straight up that if it involved getting credit checks on my credit reports, I would not do it. She emailed me, assuring me it would only be a soft pull. She further asserted "We are direct lenders, an you therefore will skip the middleman". She sent my funding request out to other parties, two of whom did a hard credit pull.Desired Settlement: I would like Reliant Funding to contact all 3 credit bureaus and ensure that any and all credit pulls that have to do with this event are removed from any and all of my credit reports.
Business
Response:
We’ve reached out to the merchant to explain: As a direct
funding source, we verified credit without any adversity as promised. Reliant
looks to do what is best for the client, there isn’t a single source that is
the best option for every client. In this case, even though we want to be
the solution, it was determined that the best source of funding for the client
was outside of our own asset base. As a result we worked with lending
partners whose credit policies (and funding terms) differed from our own. No
funding source is authorized to change/administer credit bureau activities
resulting from other vendors’ actions. We are always looking to improve, we
have taken actions to train the staff on improving methods of communication on
when/how this may occur. We apologize for any misunderstanding.
Review: We received a Premier Line Card in the mail that is from Reliant Funding in San Diego CA. It says to call the toll-free number to activate the card and provides a 'Total cash limit' of $[redacted]. This was completely unsolicited AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. Our concern is that it could have been delivered in error to someone else or an employee could have opened it or activated without our knowledge and that we could be held responsible for money that we had not authorized. This is a advertising scheme that should be ILLEGAL! There is too much identity theft and not enough controls to protect the innocent.Desired Settlement: Government should take action against things like this!
Reliant Premier & Reliant Funding Take us off your lists PERMANENTLY!

Review: Misleading advertising..We received an unsolicited "cash card" with a promise of immediate access to cash for our business together with a statement that the card merely requires "activation" by phone. "Activation" is actually a credit application in disguise.a) We don't want to receive, and shouldn't receive, unsolicited offers of cash whether by mail or any other way. The card could be activated by any employee, assuming that the offer is genuine...b) ...which it isn't. In fact the card is a craftily disguised solicitation to apply for credit. The process of "activation" involves a sales meeting with their so-called "Personal Account Manager" and the result would be far from the "immediate" as advertised because it will take several days for the credit (if approved) to become available.Desired Settlement: Aa above. Your call.

The facts indicated in the response clearly illustrate that the offer is misleading and close to fraudulent. I quote:
"Your new reliant cash card has been issued"
"You can now get IMMEDIATE access to cash...." - clearly untrue since further down it reads "Get Cash in days.... "
The whole package is a sham.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
The respondent has totally avoided the specific issues of:
UNTRUE STATEMENT: "You can now get immediate access to cash... etc." Patently untrue and their following statement says "Get cash in days" - NOT immediately!
In fact "activating the Cash Card" is nothing more than activating a loan application. The card isn't activated, and no cash is available.
THE OFFER IS TOTALLY MISLEADING.

Review: I received what was apparently an advertisement that appeared to be a credit line applied for and approved by Reliant Funding. I normally disregard advertisements and shred the incoming documents, however this card was official and only required activation. The more disturbing fact is that the card read:[redacted] along with my name and address. I have never met or heard of a [redacted]. Furthermore, the letter went on to state CONGRATULATIONS! Your new reliant cash card is enclosed.I proceeded to call the number and find out who [redacted] was and how he/she applied for credit under my name. The representative for Reliant Funding was vague and not willing to let me know who that person was or how they came to send me a card ready for activation. This is very disturbing to me in todays market of identity theft and fraud. He would not tell me any information and when I stated that I would turn this over to my attorney, his comment was that I would spend thousands of dollars for nothing.Sincerely[redacted] A. [redacted], D. M. D.Desired Settlement: Reliant Funding should not be allowed to send out approved cards ready for activation without an individuals approval!

Review: At my place of business I received a notice stating "Within the last 15 business days, a prequalified Reliant Business Cash Card and activation request were issued for the company named herein." I did not request activation of any such card.Desired Settlement: I think this is just a scam ad/phishing attempt. Nevertheless, I want my name removed from their files and no further contact from their business. I also want proof that they neither have nor will sell or give my information to another party.

Response:
On February 17, 2014 our Director of Marketing responded to the complaint with the following email:
Dear Mr. [redacted],
I am responding to your
complaint written to the Revdex.com regarding Reliant Services
Group and the mailing you received. I want to assure you that the mailing
you received is for a solicitation only. Reliant Services would not initiate a loan or credit line on your
behalf without your consent and a very stringent identification process.
The mailing is a solicitation for a product. We are a compliant company
with a process that goes to great lengths to identify the applicant from first
inquiry to funding. The application process does not begin without the
account holder's consent. We will not extend funding to anyone without
minimally receiving the information below:

·Business Bank Account with
signatory matching the applicant
·A phone verification with
the business owner and a landlord verification proving the business is a
current tenant
·Copy of most recent Tax
Return

Response:
We received your organization's name from a national list provider accessing publicly available information. We do not work with schools, so your organization clearly made the list in error.
Review: I have received a cash card with my business name on it and an assigned number. "Just call or click, get approved, get cash." It was not requested and it is not legal to send unwanted cards in the mail. I was on the US Congressional Docket to stop just this practice and the measure passed by a large margin. I find the practice of sending a cash card/credit card for my business a way to put my credit and information at risk and since I received no answer to my phone call to Reliant, I am continuing with this matter. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.Desired Settlement: Would like to speak to the company and discuss their mailing practices. Certainly would like them to remove my name from their list.

Response:
We spoke with Ms. [redacted] and explained that the mailing enclosure she received was not an actual credit card. She offered suggestions regarding promotional pieces in the financial services industry. We appreciate her feedback and have taken her off our mailing list.
