Very unprofessionalEspecially for a housing complexFirst and foremost, I understand that it is not their responsibility to protect me or my belongingsBut when there is a very prominent vandalism problem, and managment willingly refuses to address the problem, then the tenants should not be penalizedWith this preface, my experience is described in full detail below:
I drive an Acura and a ToyotaI rent a garage where I store my ToyotaMy Acura sits in the dimly lit parking lot right outside my front doorIn the middle of the night a vandal came by and cut off my exhaust pipe, stealing my catalytic converter (because they are valuable pieces of automobiles.) A $mechanic bill that came out of my pocketWhen I reported this to Lakes of Windsor management, they simply told me that this is not the first time it has happened and they are well aware of the issueWhen I moved in I was given no warning of the problem even though they were aware of the issueWhen I reported the vandalism, they told me to buy a better alarm (because obviously they thought the stock alarm was not sufficient)They said they can not reimburse me in any wayI completely understand thisBut now I feel threatened to live here because I drive a vehicle that is subject to vandalism in this neighborhoodI do not want to live here anymore because I do not feel safe but they want to charge me $to leave the apartment complex months before my lease is upThis is the part that is unprofessionalFirst they refuse to fix a well-known safety issue in their complex, then when I want to fix it (by removing myself and my targeted vehicle) they want to charge me $This is the only way to protect myself at this point, and they want to penalize me for doing so
