Over years ago, on moving to Arizona in 2012, I closed out all my accounts with RegionsI had banking services and a personal loanI called the bank to close out the accounts and was told they would be closedOn October 2018, I received a notice that Regions had sent a balance of $to a collection agency
Upon calling Regions, they indicated the followingThe account had not been closed as I had directedThey showed a balance of approximately $left on the loan (despite receiving a final payment that was accurate to the cent, not in even dollars) and had charged late fees from - They indicated they made no attempt to contact me or correct the issueThey retained the services of a collection agency to collect their late fees, but said they no longer had any way modify the account because it had been transferred to collections
