hotels policy of keeping entire deposit despite 30 day notice of cancellation-including the tax.I had to cancel rooms due to family problem-hotel says they cant refund me [redacted] because it is not their policy. I gave them 30 day notice and am willing at this point to accept any fair refund.Desired Settlementwould love 100% especially since they have plenty of time to fill those rooms...I want FAIR treatment...anything at this point would be greatly appreciated

The motel did not allow me to modify my reservations from a 3 night to a 2 night stay. They insisted that I had to pay for all 3 nights. After being dissatisfied with their customer service, I asked that they cancel my reservations entirely. They said that in order to cancel, I had to "cancel 30 days prior to arrival". That would have been impossible to do considering that the reservation was made the same day.Desired SettlementI would like to receive a full refund of what I was originally charged.Business Response When guest came in, he asked if he would be able to cancel his third day, IF his meeting ended early. I said no, and showed him the cancellation policy, clearly stated on the reservation confirmation emailed to him. At that point, he got very angry, and stormed out of our hotel. Our cancellation is also clearly stated on the hospitality website where he made his reservation. Cancellation policy reads, "all reservations must be csncelled by 3:00 p.m. at least 31 days prior to arrival date, in order to avoid a no show charge. Otherwise all applicable charges for the full stay booked-room rate and spplicable taxes-will have to be paid and will be charged."He is not due a refund!
