Shawn [redacted] entered into a contract with my husband to add on and completely remodel our existing home. The estimated time to complete was 9 months. At 12 months we were not even half way complete. We terminated our contract legally.
[redacted] allowed our existing hardwood floors to get damaged by not protecting them during the removal of the roof. They were a complete loss. Our roof was installed improperly and I had to hassle with his shoddy roofing company to come and repair a bad installation. The foundation was improperly poured and during the inspection it was discovered. Shawn couldn't get the company that poured the foundation to come and fix it, so he prevailed upon a family owned business (and personal friend) to come and fix his mess. They did. When we had a problem again a few months ago, we were fortunate that they are reputable and they fixed the problem. The Sheetrock was a disaster- the carpentry laughable- the exterior pre-painted Hardy that was installed had to be completely redone around all the exterior windows because it was installed improperly- then the entire exterior had to be painted. The architectural plans were not followed and the vents noted on the plans for the pier and beam were not done and as a consequence, the downstairs floors cupped. And there is way more.
But don't need to say any more. All of this is very well documented.
