Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/01) */
After investigating the incident, I found that the screw was sticking out sideways on the passenger sideSo it isn't possible that the screw got into the tire at the car washI called the customer last week and explained that it was
impossible that it happened at the car wash since there isn't anything putting pressure on the passenger tire with enough force to drive a screw in and then out of a tire
I further told the customer that we could not take responsibility for it since it wasn't possible that the car wash created the issue and that they could open up a claim with their personal insurance company if they still believed we were responsible after I clearly explained that it was impossible
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/03/02) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The information from the car wash is not correctThe screw is through my wheel close to the treadNot sticking out sideways out the side of my tireHe also says that he called me which is incorrectI had to call the car wash the next day even though I was told that the manager would contact meI have pictures from the day I was there when it happenedWe want to be paid for at least the tire that was damaged
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/03/08) */
When the incident occurred the assistant was the manager on dutyHe told her the gm would contact her the following day
The assistant talked with the gm about the incident and he came to the conclusion that because of where and how the screw was lodged into the tire that it wasn't possible that it could have occurred at the wash
The following morning, the customer contacted the store and spoke with the gm, who told her his determination of the incidentAfterwards she sent the email claim in
When I received the email I talked with both the assistant who saw the tire and the gm and agreed with their determinationI called the number listed on the email claim ticket twice and left a message when no one answered the phone
The customer's husband called me back about a half hour later and I explained to him how there isn't anything that comes in contact with that part of the tire with enough force to drive the screw into the tire the way it wasI then explained that if they still disagreed with the company's determination on the issue he should contact his insurance company who would then perform an investigation on their behalf
