Red Lion Inn & Suites

My wife and I came to this facility to stay the night and we were not made aware of the $100 deposit fee for damage. When we walked into our room it smelled horrible and many things were broken (shower curtain Rod, sink, towel rack were all falling off the wall, there were holes in the carpet, there was trash laying around the room, the curtains were broken, there were stains on the carpet) also on top of our $100 deposit they took and extra $100 with no explanation. The customer service was terrible. They were no help with any of the issues. They said we would not be held accountable for any damage and told us not to worry about it. In the morning when we checked out they could not help us at all. They stated all they could do was text their manager. They couldn't do any refunds or anything.

This Red Lion Inn & Suites on Noland Rd in Independence, Missouri has charged far more than what was agreed to on the app and in person. $86.82 is what was paid online with all fees included. The room we got #226 looked nothing like the pictures online. Online they look nice but the one we got was run down and dirty. I'm not sure it was even cleaned properly. The clerk refused to give us another room. A $40 deposit was also taken out for incidentals and never sent back. They said it would be sent back after a couple days but they kept it. After that another payment of $31 has taken out as well. The lady at the checkout did not know why it was charged and still have not refunded the money. It has been over a week now. The total amount kept and not sent back is $71. They do not return our calls and get a constant runaround. We have went back in person to the physical location and the desk clerk always says they can't do anything and we have to speak with Connie the manager. Connie has still not returned our call. We call everyday between 8am and 12pm as they told us to and still have not gotten anything.
