Review: On May 3rd, 2013 I noticed a charge from a hotel in Missoula, Montana, that I had never been too. This hotel charged me, in excess, of $2,700.After several attempts to contact someone of management within this company, I have been hung up on, threatened by the staff of this hotel, only when I asked to see information about HOW this company got my credit card and information on who would have stayed with this hotel using my information. Based on the non-cooperation with this hotel, it has to be a scam. Any legitimate hotel would provide IDS, Credit card copies, signatures, itineraries. This company only hangs up on me when I try to contact it. And, conveniently, no management is ever available to discuss this issue. I never stayed at this hotel, I never gave an ID to this hotel, I never signed anything with this hotel. I have never been to Montana.Desired Settlement: Refund of $2,700.

I provided the guest of a copy of the signed registration card and a copy of the bill. These charges were for smoking fees in 8 rooms and extra cleaning costs and damages to free linens. The guests credit card was swiped at check in following our proper checkin procedure. The GM at the time was unavailable when the guest called to inquire. When I learned of the problem I advised the guest that it appeared as though one followed our proper procedure and if there was a problem he should file a dispute with his card company or bank. To my knowledge this guest has not filed a formal credit card dispute.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9530434, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This company took a MONTH to respond to my complaint, conveniently for them. It also took over a week to speak to someone in charge, even though I was told on day 1 that the manager was the one who charged my card that Friday morning. She then quit her job on Monday! I called my bank on day 1 and they have already reversed the charge. However, this company failed to check identification of the person who provided the hotel with my card. It seems like a scheme they are trying to cover up, so I want everyone to know, watch out for this hotel! The only thing [redacted] sent me is a generic hotel bill (for 3 rooms, not 8...?) and a sloppy, forged signature of mine that does not match the back of my visa card, or my ID for that matter. My bank informed me that when my credit card was charged, it was done so electronically and it was not swiped. At first, I thought my card had been stolen and several attempts to contact this hotel to help me with finding out who to file charges against, like surveillance footage, a copy of identification, ANYTHING . This hotel had nothing. According to Montana state law, they should have saw my ID and even scanned it. They never did. They never received my credit card, they stole my information and used it to try to steal my identity! [redacted] is now a manager with this hotel? Everytime I called her, she was just a front desk clerk and "knew nothing." "Talk to your bank about it"...I already have, now it's time for the cops to take away these people for fraud!
