I financed winter tires through this company because they advertise 'no credit check'. She also even said in a message that I have proof of that there is no credit checks. I also don't believe I signed anything allowing them to check my credit. If I did then it was in the fine print and she told me I was signing for something else because I would not have agreed to have a credit check because I am trying to rebuild my credit. But of course they hit my credit even though they said they didn't! I contacted her about this and she contacted their credit company and then came back to me and said that they started doing credit checks but she didn't know this. So she is misleading people. If I knew she was going to check my credit I would have gone to Canadian Tire instead and financed because they had my preferred tires and I wouldn't have had to pay their high lien registration fees (which she also wasn't up front about until I was standing there late for work in a rush and just had to sign the paper and go). Terrible to deceive people like this. I also have proof of everything. I took screenshots.
Product_Or_Service: Winter Tires
Correction to a credit report I want the hit off my credit report and the lien registration fees refunded. Not fair that I had to pay lien registration fees to avoid hitting my credit but then my credit was hit anyways.
Red Automotive is a small car-repair operation, just one licenced technician and one office manager. It has been operating just over two years, striving to provide expert work at minimal cost.
Where a customer wants costly parts on a pay-later basis, we are hardly in a position to provide what would effectively be a loan, especially to an unknown new client. Instead, like virtually all professionals and tradespeople, we offer a referral to a professional lender.
In short, the complainant dealt with us for the work, and with an arms-length-to-us finance firm for the funds to cover the goods and services we provided. She seems to have no quarrel with us but objects to the practices of the lender, Prefera, which is where your answers should be sought.
(If we may add a commentary, apparently she objected to the lender's check on her credit. We are not in a position to defend the finance company except to point out that we have used them from the outset with no issues. And we have to wonder who would apply for money from a financier without expecting a routine credit check. Moreover, she apparently feels that the credit check disadvantages her, that the lender should not have done it, and that she did not give written permission for them to do so - and we question whether any of these is the case.
Given our innocence in the fallout from our trying to accommodate her, why would she denounce us in ways that might be considered libellous and/or slanderous? Does she know that even in a "free speech" country, the law protects everyone from abusive language? If she ordered legal or dental work on a payment plan that for some reason displeased her, would she badmouth the lawyer or the dentist?
If she wanted to find her own lender, there was nothing stopping her, and it would have saved us extra steps. As the saying goes, "No good deed goes unpunished,")
Please find attached a pay out letter from the financing company and as well their contact information.
