Review: In response to file number# [redacted] I am writing to dispute information that this company has reported on my credit report (TransUnion). The Receivable Recovery LA account on my credit report was for a medical bill that was supposed to be written off (by a victim fund), but it wasnt, I wasnt notified of the balance, and received an alert from my credit monitoring service that it was in collections and on my credit report. I immediately called "Receivable Recovery LA" and paid the $100 balance they claimed was due. In August 2014, I was notified that this debt was again reported to my credit as "OPEN, NOT PAID", I called Receivable Recovery LA on August 1, 2014, and was assured the account was Paid in Full and Closed. When asked for a letter to that effect, another representative from their company said Our company does not provide letters, you need to contact the credit bureau, we reported it in April 2013 as paid. I did just that but TransUnion responded that "Receivable Recovery LA" verified the debt AGAIN in August 2014 and the account remains on my report. Yesterday, 1/25/15 I receive another notice from my credit monitoring service that this account was verified as "OPEN, NOT PAID" with $100 balance due. Please investigate further and update my report. How can I dispute a debt if the company refuses to give me anything in writing? Why is this even on my credit report at all?Desired Settlement: Written letter from Receivable Recovery LA that this debt was paid in full in April 2013 sent to me by mail or email. Further investigation as to why my account was sent to collections when it was supposed to be under review to be paid for by the victims fund at the hospital (I was assaulted on the streets of New Orleans and transported by ambulance to ER).
