The neighbor to one of the properties we manage, had "emergency" work done on a fence between the two properties.The neighbor sent a bill for half the cost to our property management firm.The cost was justified as an "Landlord expense" and we immediately billed our property owner/landlord for the cost and planned to take it out of the next month's rental income.The property owner balked about the"unapproved" (due to emergency-nature of the repair need) expense and refused to have it deducted that month.There was no rental income, from which to deduct the cost, the following monthEventually, we believed the best course of action was for our company to pay that expense out of our monthly income.The complaintant has been paid
