Review: The real estate listing agency that I have my house listed with has not followed through providing me with notification and feed back from showings. I was not even aware that anyone had shown it in the last 3 months until I called to ask to be released from contract, which expires in July. Originally I used this agency because a friend of mine ([redacted]) was the realtor who took the listing. She has since stopped being a realtor, however while she did have the listing she made certain that I had advance notice of a showing and feedback from the client. I plan on having some repair work done and I would not have wanted a prospective buyer to show up while workers were there. I spoke with the broker on April 23 expressing my dissatisfaction and she ([redacted] reluctantly agreed to give me a release letter. She said she was too busy that day but Friday or the first part of next week she would do it. The following day, April 24 her business partner called to ask what the issue was. I told her it had been already discussed and [redacted] was giving me a release letter. She called [redacted] into the office while I was on the phone and asked her and [redacted] blatantly denied saying she would. That lie in and of itself has destroyed any trust I had in that agency (Re/Max Select Group) and its integrity. On Monday I had a letter hand delivered saying I wanted the release letter by yesterday (April 30) or I would proceed through various channels of complaint if they did not agree to lease me from the contract by May 1. Today, being May 1, I am proceeding with filing complaints. Note: I did receive a letter yesterday stating that they would release me from the contract for $2,000, which was not the original plan. No mention of a monetary settlement was mentioned during the original conversation on April 22.Desired Settlement: Immediate release from contract with no cost.
