Vehicle parts taken from my vehicle while being repaired. Body shop repairman broke my steering column when replacing the airbag.
November 11, 2013, I drove my 2006 [redacted] Van (1500, 4.3 engine) to RC Collision to repair the front fender on the driver's side and also to reinstall the airbag in the steering wheel. I was given a quote of $800-$1000 to do the work. I requested for them to put my old parts inside the cargo. When I went to pick up the van, I found the radiator and half the front grill were not inside the cargo. When I requested them back, the receptionist denied the items were even on the van. I disputed her by asking how could I drive it here without a radiator. They found radiator and gave it to me, but did not give back the other half of grill which had the right signal light in it and denied they took it off. I had photos of the van prior to taking it in and the owner, [redacted], refused to look at my photos as proof and walked off. Also, they broke the steering column while replacing the airbag and did not fix it back. Then they charged me a total of $1100 which was $100 over the quote. When I asked [redacted] about the amount, he said they did some other work to the van but could not tell me what work was done. In order to prevent confrontation with him, I just paid him and left. Therefore, I am filing this complaint against [redacted] and RC's Collision Center, LLC., for the amount of my missing part, the cost of the steering column, and the cost of labor repair, in the amount of $190.86.
This company betrayed my trust and in the end treated me unfairly.
