Review: I called RBC and prefunded $590 to my credit card account to increase available limit and to use it as a checking account avoiding paying any extra fee and rates for using credit (signed Visa check with $590). During my conversation with RBC agent he clearly confirmed that I will not be charged any fee due to using my (not credit) prepaid funds.Today, I checked a credit card balance and surprisingly found there Balance Transfer Fee $17.70 (3 percents from $590) and Welcome Cheque $590 transaction after $590 Phone Prepayment. By the way, I did not use RBC Promotional "Welcome Cheques", instead of them I used just regular RBC Visa check to avoid any fees with prepaid balance.I called RBC again and asked: "Why I was charged $17.70 Transfer Fee for the transaction that goes from my funds (not credit balance)?" In simple words, I immediately was charged 3 percents from MY funds just for using RBC check.And I use the same method in RBC Canada, paying by Visa checks with accordingly prefunded balance (the sum in the check is equal to the prefunded sum) and it works (no fees for these transactions because there is no credit usage).They responded that while their agent probably provided wrong information,3 percent fee always applies to any transaction going through credit card account even when it is prepaid accordingly before, and I have to pay this fee."I would never make this kind of transaction if RBC agent would provide correct information.Though, they have obvious proof of this fact (our conversation was recorded by RBC), now I must pay $17.70 for using MY OWN funds.Desired Settlement: Refund of $17.70.
