Re: *** *** complaint In regards to the vinyl installation at the *** *** apartments, the problem with the vinyl ripping / bubbling is not an installation related issue The issue is being created by a heavy power wheelchair (300-lbchair plus the body weight of the
user) that the tenant uses within the home When the wheel chair makes a sharp turn, the inside wheel pivots on top of the vinyl The amount of pressure put on the one spot of vinyl as the chair twists has torn the vinyl and broken it’s bond to the subfloor The problem areas are common pivot points within the home Prior to *** ***’s employment with *** *** apartments, *** *** selected the vinyl they purchased from us in which to install When the sale of the vinyl / installation was made, there was no communication from *** *** to Ray’s Flooring as to the type of use the vinyl would endure The damage is not a product warranty issue nor an installation related issue and is not the responsibility of Ray’s Flooring Repairs to the floor are useless as the problem will continue to reoccur as long as the power wheel chair is used in the apartment The floor must be replaced The issue is deemed consumer damage; *** *** apartments must purchase a new flooring which is rated for the type of traffic it is exposed to within the residence.
