I called to get service. They arrived and told me my a/c had some charge and needed leak dye and Freon and it would be 120 leak dye 60 $ per lb of Freon and 80 or 85 $!service call I oked it then find out he didn’t like weigh the Freon with scale and spent like 30 minutes on it and charged me 680$ and like didn’t respond when I called them again to find out where leak Dye came out ! Turned out the compressor bolts where missing and the like was moving with the compressor caused leak and for these guys being pros in a/c repair I real I got jipped! The prices didn’t seem to add up to 680 and my system empty would hold only 4.668 lbs of Freon !
We went out to *** home and performed a diagnostic. At the time the System was extremely low on refrigerant. Company policy and state code is we perform a leak search. The technician injected it with a dye and searched for leaks. The technician tightened the valve stems and proceeded to apply pressure to the system. Once the system held pressure, technician charged the system with refrigerant. System begin cooling and has stayed cooling since service was performed. Pricing was explained to the customer and the customer paid the ticket. Our prices are flat rate pricing which means the cost for the part includes labor. If the technician takes 30 minutes or 5 hours the price stays the same. The cost we charged him was for the dye injection, the refrigerant, and the labor. This was a fair market price in all. Attached is a copy of voice recording of us giving *** a courtesy call to see if all went good and he was satisfied. He explained that everything was good. At this time Rapid Air will not be refunding any money for services performed.
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
*** the compressor was not screwed in and shaking loose inside the condenser unit and he didn’t measure the amount of Freon he put in and the amounts he told me only added up to like 500 not 680 and he put the leak dye but didn’t look any where it was my first experience with home repair and assumed it would be fair but the more time I have to figure things out from other service people the worse it seems! And I called to get the leak found he told me take time for leak dye to show leak called few times but no answer?
Way over charged and wired the replacement parts wrong causing the unit to run continuously.
