After speaking to [redacted] last week over the phone, we discussed the matter and came to a resolution agreed upon.

This is a four year old living room set. The protection plan that was purchased would have covered any accidental damage, stains or tears for five years. The customer receives a credit for the purchase amount of the protection plan after five years if there has been no claim. The...

protection plan does not cover the issues described in the complaint, and is still eligible to receive that credit at the end of the fifth year. No furniture manufacturer's warranty extends beyond one year for this type of issue.      The typical sofa sold nationally in this price range has an expected useful live of about five years. Given that this set is four years old, we will be happy to offer a pro-rated credit of 25% toward a replacement set.

We have offered the customer the display sofa with a $50 discount. Her request of half price for the sofa and a free ottoman are totally out of the question. We have also offered her an additional store credit if she waits for the next available shipment, which is what she agreed to. We will be...

happy to refund the full price of any items that have not been delivered if the customer chooses that as an alternative option.
