My wife and I went through the line, waited for the arm to raise after reading our windshield sticker and proceeded. There was one vehicle in front of me so as always I lined my right front up wit the rear tire of the vehicle in front of me (I’ve been through both locations here in Champaign Illinois probably about 500 times over the years so I’m very aware of the process. As I approached the attendant motioned me to turn my wheels to the right which was odd as I’m usually right on line. So I turned to the right and she looked under my truck and then she guided me onto the track. I placed my car into neutral as required and took my hand off of the wheel and foot off of the brake. She started the machine and we went down the track a short way before we heard a crunch, she stopped the machine and cam to my window and told us that she didn’t know what it was. I initially thought it was my hubcap that got caught in the machine, she told me that she would run us through and to come around the the vacuum area. Once there I saw that my wheel well cover had been ripped off which damaged my fender and bumper. The MGR who I later learned was Josh Stoll jumped into his truck and took off? So the attendant Sophia called him and asked him where he was going and he said that he was going to another location and that he would call me in a couple of days.
To make a long story short, I was told by Mgr Josh Stoll that the camera would show something hanging and that Sophia told him that she did see something hanging from the bottom of my truck.
Following a call from MGR Danielle I was told that attendant Sophia said that she didn’t see anything hanging but that they were denying my damage.
I then spoke with Dalton Cunningham who went from he didn’t see my wheels turn to the right on the video to it was driver or equipment error.
Next, I was told by Josh Stoll that he didn’t go to another location, but that he went to lunch.
Funny how a manager will leave following an accident at his site while in the middle of an incident, he was probably instructed to do so in order for rainstorm to get their lies together. But I accidentally recorded the conversation between Sophia and MGR Jeff Stoll immediately after he left.
So my estimate for repair was over $1,600 and they were refusing to pay for my damages so I had to retain an attorney. After weeks of trying to locate their corporate office and insurance company, they have now changed their position to there were some clips missing so that was the reason for the damages to my truck.
Rainstorm Carwash will do and blame anything in order to not take responsibility for damages that occur at their carwashes. They will lie, change their stories and attempt to make the driver at fault. So for future reference, they will not tell you where their corporate office is located, they will not volunteer their insurance companies location or information, and they will force you to get an attorney in order to resolve your issue.
So I can’t speak for any other automated Carwash but use rainstorm at your own risk ⛔️
My whole car is covered in scratches from carwashes in Decatur locations @ MLK and also ALDI DR. They know this is an issue with their washes and have yet to correct it, Unbelievable!
The Car Wash Scratched my driver side window.
January 2nd, 2019Dear Mr.,Rainstorm Car Wash prides itself on providing the highest quality of service to ourcustomers. We set high standards for ourselves, and this standard was met in yourinteraction with your business. I spoke to the Manager at our car wash located at 321Cranmer Dr in Springfield, where the complaint was filed, and investigated this issuefurther. Our site manager looked at the scratch on the passenger side window, and our managerdetermined that they did not come from our facility. The scratch is not consistent withany equipment operating in the tunnel. The brushes spin in excess of 100 rotations perminute which would result in multiple scratches along the vehicle, rather than the singlescratch on your window. Our manager did his due diligence in reviewing your damage claim and let you know thedamage claim is denied for the reasons listed above. We will not be repairing yourvehicle since our facility is not responsible for the damage.Since the claim was denied, we considered this matter resolved. If you have anyquestions, please contact me directly at [email protected],Kyle SparksDirector of Marketing and SalesRainstorm Car Wash2390 E Federal DrDecatu r, IL 62526
I am rejecting this response because:I believe the damage was done by the car wash, the manager on site did not say it would be multi scratches. He stated that the camera did not show the scratch before I came nor after I left. The Scratch is a half circle motion, would be consistent with the car wash. I wouldn’t understand how any other way to scratch we got on there. Also I never got a chance to see the recording.
Mr.,
Our video evidence is attached to this document showing there was no scratch when you exited the tunnel.
Thank you,
Kyle Sparks
Rainstorm Car Wash broke the windshield wipers on my vehicle, when exiting the carwash the spinning shammy wheel grabbed the wiper blade and pulled it strait up. Right after this happened, I reported to one of the employees and they said a manager would contact me. They next day I received a call from the manager asking me to bring the vehicle back to the carwash, after returning he took pictures and said he would talk to the manager and respond back. Few days later, the manager called and wanted me to return to the carwash a third time, I said this was a waste of time and asked if they were going to cover the damage. The manager said no they are not going to cover, when I asked why he did not have a good excuse. The wipers worked before entering the car wash and when we left the car wash it was very clear there was damage. With witnesses in the vehicle, we all seen the damage take place.

The Car Wash Experience I am satisfied with , however the staff is very unprofessional and set up multiple accounts under my name and card number. I was a loyal customer for a year. Recently our account has been charged multiple times. I spoke with a man who claimed he was a district manager named Bryan. He suggested I just no longer be a customer and just cancel services. They also had other cars on our account that we were unaware of. The issue was never resolved. I was charged $60 and only refunded $15.
I visited this location on 5/28/18 to have my car washed. The attendant directed me where to position my car to go through the car wash. I shifted my car to neutral to allow the car wash to guide my car through. About halfway through the wash the brushes beat so hard on my passenger side mirror that they caused it to come detached from my vehicle. As the wash is machine guided I had no way to stop my vehicle from continuing through the rest of the wash cycle. The brushes knocked my detached mirror into the passenger side window of my car repeatedly. After exiting the wash I immediately pulled over and parked. My father and I spoke with two attendants at the location. They took pictures of the damage and submitted a damage complaint. They stated that a manager would be in contact with me. The manager did not contact me until two days later on 5/30/18. The manager stated that even though here were pictures taken immediately after I exited the wash he still required that I bring my car by the location for a physical inspection. I took my car to have an estimate done for the damage as the attendants I spoke with on 5/28 instructed I do. I brought my car by the location on 5/30 and brought the printed estimate with me. The manager stated that their disclaimer is posted before entering the wash. We took a picture of where the disclaimer is loctated. The disclaimer was blocked by several signs and other items at the car wash. He kept stating that they wouldn’t cover the cost of the damage because the mirror was an aftermarket part. The mirror has been the same mirror since I purchased the car. He inspected the mirror for glue residue to be sure that my mirror had not just been previously glued on. He stated during our phone call that he had reviewed the camera video and had seen that my mirror was attached prior to entering the wash and was detached after exiting it. I feel that the company should cover the cost of labor and parts to fix my vehicle as their machinery damaged it and their damage disclaimer is not located in a clear location. It is blocked by many signs as evidenced by a picture that we have taken. The manager refused to provide us any corporate number to contact to speak with his manager or someone higher up. He stated that there was no one higher up to speak with.
My vehicle was involved in a 4 car pile up in the car wash on February 16, 2018. There was damage to my front bumper and I was told to obtain an estimate and that a manager would be in contact with me. I got the estimate for the damage to my car and sent it to the manager. I was put off for weeks and called them to see what the hold up was. Today, March 20, 2018, I was notified that the car wash would be "denying all liability, and will not be paying for the damage" to my car. This is unacceptable.
