Review: I called R.A.C.K. Security Industries located at [redacted] and I made an appointment to take steps towards becoming a certified security guard. I met with a [redacted] and before I went any further with the process, I informed [redacted] that I had a criminal record and had spent time in prison 1980. I was told by [redacted] that this would not be a problem since the incident occurred so long ago. I was then told that I would have to make three payments in order to become certified with the promise of employment; one for $75, another for $150 and a final one of $265, a total of $490. I also took two trainings where I was given certificates for the class.
After I made all the payments I was told to wait until I received an IUD #[redacted] in the mail (which I did) from Albany which would be placed on my ID card when I become employed.
I then took a photo for my ID and I was finger printed. I was then told that I would receive my ID card in the mail and I would then return to the office for placement.
A short time later I received a letter in the mail stating that my application was denied due to my criminal record and that all funds are non refundable.
I also informed [redacted] that I was in a drug rehabilitation program at the time and I did not have much money. I was assured that my money would guaranteed me employmentDesired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the $490I gave them.
They failed to represent what service they provide accurately. They failed to provide a refund. They promise to provide work immediately yet people that have used this service have not found work. They will not show their proper business licenses. They will not reveal how they make money. They appear to be running a scam.
