Review: Our contract mentioned one type of shingle application to the roof. The contractor applied another type of shingle, without asking for a change in shingle. Our contract specified 15# felt on the house and garage roofs. The contractor covered the house and garage with Summit 60 synthetic underlayment, without asking for a change in product. Since there would be a delay in roof application, the minimally clad house in shingles became an integrity issue. A call was made to Mr. [redacted]. He replied that he would be over to work on the underlayment. But, Mr. [redacted] failed to appear and secure the roofing from water, hail, or wind damage. The bathroom ventilation pipe needed a boot. The dormer side valleys needed chalking. Synthetic underlayment pieces were applied improperly on one part of the roof and needed adjusting, to assure proper water drainage. The home owner found another individual to work on the integrity issues.

Mr. [redacted] did order a third shingle, but he did not receive approval from the homeowner/contract signer. Nor did he quote a price on the new shingles.Desired Settlement: R[redacted] Construction LLC did special order windows for our basement. We are willing to purchase the windows from him at cost. He, also, completed work on chimney removal, siding and J-channel removal and replacement. We are willing to pay a total cost of $913.44.

A letter was sent to Mr. [redacted] with this as a possible solution. He answered through a letter from a lawyer, asking for $4992.76 from the homeowner and his wife. But, the wife is not the homeowner or a signer of the contract.
