Review: My 2003 chevy Venture Van was taken to [redacted] a Mechanic to be worked on in the fall of 2014. He kept the van for 3 months and I paid him $1000.00 for repairs. He picked up the Van again in April of 2015 for issues with a oil leak. We asked him to check if this was something that would be covered until his warranty work from previous work done. 3 week later a bill was given to me via text message stating I owe him 500.00 for repairs. I did not allow him to work on the van if it was not covered under his warranty because of the amount already paid. I don't want to pay for repairs more than the van is worth. When my daughters went to pick up the van and explain we didn't want him to work on it without us knowing what is wrong with it and a quote he became irate and assaulted my daughter. A police report was made for the assault and he refuses to return my van. When officers arrived [redacted] left the scene. The officer went to where his garage is and the van was missing. He was given permission to search the location for the van and my van was no where to be found. Later on that evening [redacted] advised the officer that he didn't have the van and it was located at his mechanics place in El Paso,TX. I had no knowledge that my van was being fixed by someone else and not given permission to do so. He refuses to return my van and on his statement it does state that any invoices over $100.00 must be approved and signed by the owner. I never signed the invoice nor had knowledge what was being done to my van. It was only suppose to be looked at if what was wrong with it would be covered under his warranty of the previous work done for $1000.00.Desired Settlement: I want my van back since I did not give him permission to work on it and just to assess if problem would be covered under his warranty. Not to mention he took it over state lines and allowed someone else to work on the van without my permission.
