Review: We purchased our home new from [redacted] in 2012. We were told it was built in 2011. There was a problem with the upstairs air conditioning which they supposedly fixed before we closed on the house. We recently began to have trouble with it again. When we called a technician to fix it, he informed us that the compressor is 14 years old and needs to be replaced. I am upset because I assumed a new house would have new equipment and an air conditioner should not need to be replaced in 2 1/2 years. Other people who have installed new compressors usually receive a warranty of up to 20 years. We only had a one years home warranty. We called RMS, but could not reach anyone who would talk to us about it. I also emailed several departments and received no response.Desired Settlement: We think the compressor should have been new when installed and should still be under warranty. We would like it replaced with a new compressor from 2011 or newer.
