R & L Tires Reviews (4)

Since this matter has already been submitted to the court system, it doesn't really matter what is said or exchanged here I will say this; the truck was driven after the shifter housing was replaced at our shop, I myself drove it out to our parking area so by my [redacted] saying we never drove it is not correct ALSO mr [redacted] took this old truck with almost 300,miles to B & L to have the shifter housing repaired and was charged for the repair that [redacted] said was stripped out (huh) so what did b & l do? [redacted] saying this transmission was run with inadequate lubrication is not correct If you ask a Transmission specialist about running dry because of the top of the transmission housing having stripped bolts (which I know didn't have) is not correct, this will not cause the tranny to spill the oil out, it might seep out in very little quantity ALSO mr [redacted] stated that he did not drive the truck much.My Conclusion to this complaint: THIS IS ALREADY IN THE SMALL CLAIMS COURT DIVISION.We have been in business for years and have seen lots of things and had to deal with different types of folks and we do try to satisfy every customer but in the real world that we live in, this will never happen Our integrity is all we have and if I don't take care of our integrity well we wont have nothing, I did speak to mr [redacted] about helping him out with his transmission problem that I did point out to him when I handed him the keys to the truck AFTER I DROVE IT OUT TO HIM, IF MR [redacted] DOESNT RECALL ME SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS WELL THEN I AM A BIG LIAR (cant do much to prove I did say this to him) we did offer to take a deeper look at the problem but mr [redacted] went elsewhere, bottom line is I will have to pay for this but this I KNOW, I DID MY PART BY TRYING TO HELP HIM IF WE HERE AT R AND L TIRES DID WRONG THEN WE WILL PAY FOR THE WRONG DOINGS ONE WAY OR ANOTHER AND THE SAME GOES FOR MR ***, HE ALSO WILL PAY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER IF HE DID WRONGDO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WANT DONE TO YOU I WILL HAVE SETTLE WITH THE COURT -----------CASE CLOSED-----------

Hello my name is [redacted] Nevarez and I am the service manager at R and L Tires,[redacted]

We are currently reviewing camera...

footage of Mr. [redacted] vehicle from the time it was dropped off to the time it left and also interviewing our technicians who worked on the 1995 [redacted] Truck with very high mileage 275,323 miles on it.  From what I have gathered so far is the following; When the truck was dropped off and pulled into the service bay on Jan 30, 2015, immediately we were having problems putting the vehicle in gear, the technician did say the truck might be due for a clutch replacement service.  We worked on the exhaust of this vehicle and returned it to the customer once the work was performed on Feb. 6th.  On March 13th, Mr. [redacted] returned to the shop complaining of a oil leak coming from the very top part of the transmission, we inspected the truck and yes we did find that the shifter cover had bolts replaced.  I spoke to the technicians and they said that yes they had replaced the bolts because they were missing and when they were bringing the truck into the service bay the shifter was loose.  I was not aware of the repair done to the shifter and the technician did say he fixed it as a courtesy and I did tell the technician that it should have been reported but was not.  When Mr. [redacted] returned because of the oil leak, I did tell him to bring it in on Monday to get another Shifter cover plate for him and he did.  Now about most of the oil leaking out of the Transmission, well that is not correct.  The shifter housing was on and had some oil seeping out and it was not pouring out but remember this is the top of the transmission and the customer did say that the truck was not driven much.  Upon replacing the shifter housing and new gasket, I personally tested the vehicle at our facility and everything was ok except the hard shifting that was present when the vehicle was first brought in, and I agree with the technician that pointed out that the vehicle was due for a clutch service because I also told Mr. [redacted] about the shifting problem and offered to service the clutch before I handed him his keys on March 16th.  On March 20th, Mr. [redacted] called complaining saying we were going to be responsible for the repairs to the transmission and that he was going to take it elsewhere to get it repaired.  I was on vacation when this happened and was only able to communicate via e-mail and I did explain to Mr. [redacted] that we would gladly take a look at his truck and advise him of whatever the truck needed.  Now Mr. [redacted] has sent me two invoices from two different repair shops and says I have to pay for it.  We were never given the opportunity to diagnose the problem with the Transmission if there was any in the first place.  Also Mr. [redacted] took his vehicle to [redacted] Transmissions and I have personally have had bad experience with [redacted].  They will rebuild the whole transmission even if it only needs an oil filter, that's just the way they work.  That being said, I never authorized that I was going to pay for this work to be performed to Mr. [redacted] Transmission.  Its too late for our shop to inspect the transmission, and Mr. [redacted] has taken his own actions and the transmission is no longer available to see since [redacted] installed a complete new casing and basically new rebuilt transmission.  So we are left with no visual proof of any damage. Now back to you Mr. Jay Pollock,  What should be done from your point of view?

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  here is the email we sent to R&L Tires and attachments from the other two mechanics who repaired the truck:[redacted],There are some issues with your email of March 20, 2015:1.  To start with no one even got into the truck before I left.  There is no way I would have left my truck with a "gear grinder".  The truck was working properly.  I drove it to your shop without problems.  The operator at the Emissions Station did not have any problems running through the test.  The operator problem was in your shop. 2.  As for the one who worked on my truck, you told me he no longer work there.  Later, you told me you had called him in [redacted] to try and find out what happened. 3.  Your shop has been untruthful and less than honest throughout this process. On Monday March 23, 2015, I took the truck to [redacted] in [redacted], CO.  He repaired the shifter and found no issue with the clutch.  The shifter was repaired and I took the truck to [redacted] (There are two attached receipts).  [redacted] released the damaged parts to me.  The casing had to be replaced because there were three stripped bolts, not two, on the shifter tower.  The small parts for the internals were "cooked" due to lack of lubrication.  There was a bolt from somewhere loose inside banging against the moving parts. To summarize:a.  The truck was damaged in your shop.b.   I was not informed of the damage, which led to further damage.c.   An unsafe inappropriate "fix" was done.d.  The second repair (replacing the shifter tower) was also improper. It was demonstrated that your shop was not able to correct the problem. The only thing that was done right was the exhaust that was replaced.Your shop is responsible for the damage and cost to repair:[redacted]                                                   $   182.54Anglin Transmission ([redacted]) -         $2,107.30TOTAL                                                 $2,289.84Sincerely,[redacted]
