Review: R&K came out to do a repair on my gate on 9/15/15 they were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. [redacted], the service tech, have inspected my gate prior and told me my gate operator was old and needed replacement but offered to give me a slightly used one as long as I paid to have a loop detector installed by them. I questioned the reliability of a slightly used operator and he said that he would warranty it for 1 year. That sounded fair so we did the deal. Before they left for the day on 9/15/15 they were testing the operator and realized that it was not 100% functional. The solenoid lock functionality was not working. [redacted] told me that it needed a new solenoid which he could get that week and install it since he would be working in a nearby town that week. After a week of not hearing anything back I contacted R&K and asked about the status of my part. I was told by [redacted] that [redacted] was busy but that he would fix my gate as soon as he was done with a project. Another week went by and still no response. I left multiple messages with [redacted] and on [redacted]s voicemail. The last weekend in October [redacted] finally called back and left a message saying that the part was back ordered but that he would have it soon. Here I am 2 and half months later with a project that is not compete! I paid them for the project before they left on 9/15/15 but the project is not compete. To make things worse, I contacted other gate installers to see if the R&K quote was accurate and apparently I WAY over paid for the project. It seems that I was overcharged to make up for the cost of the used gate operator. I tried to handle things myself and I waited as long as possible to allow them the chance to make things right but I am tired of waiting. This is ridiculous and I want to prevent others from being scammed like I have been.Desired Settlement: I want my gate properly fixed in a timely manner or a refund of excessive charges.
