Mark Davis Restoration was responsible for repairs of my home after fire damage. The contractor refused to fix issues which resulted from his bad work
Mark Davis Restoration began work on my home in February 2017. The company was responsible for smoke removal and complete remodeling of the interior of my home. The contractor tried to skip things in which he was responsible for doing per the estimate from the insurance company. He claimed he was not responsible for replacing the dishwasher and sliding glass door, which I had to show him were in the estimate. He was only concerned with getting a check throughout the entire job. This contractor's workers brought plastic chairs that I had outside on my back deck in the house to use to stand on and paint, getting paint all over them. He laughed and made jokes about it when I brought it to his attention. The workers also smoked inside my house while they were working, leaving cigarette butts in the toilet. Careless mistakes were made throughout the entire house, such as sloppy paint jobs with paint all over door knobs & other hardware, streaks on walls, and paint globs on doors. I also received a phone call from the heating & cooling company that replaced the unit in my house, stating they were going to put a lean on my house if I did not pay them by a certain date. The contractor was responsible for making the payment to the heating & cooling company, but stated that he hadn't received a check from insurance yet, when he had already gotten the check a couple months prior. I had to call the insurance adjuster in order to get the contractor to pay the bill. I have problems with the popcorn texture falling off the ceiling in my bathrooms and paint cracking on the walls only a month after the repairs were done. The contractor first told me it would get fixed, but then never returned to fix the problems. I contacted the contractor again in November telling him that the issues were getting worse. He now refuses to fix the problem, stating that those issues are from the way the house was originally built and that I do not use the vent fan in the bathroom enough. I never had those issues before the remodel. The company is poorly owned and operated and does not stand behind their work.
I want the popcorn texture of my bathrooms to be properly fixed and the paint to be redone in order to not crack.
I have read the complaint. The allegations Ms. has made are incorrect and not true. The texture is peeling and cracking from excessive moisture in the master bathroom. I have tried to explain this repeatedly to Ms.. I have attached pictures that Ms. Andrew's sent me via text message. However to satisfy Ms. we will fix the issue in the master bathroom by scraping the ceiling and reapply the popcorn texture and apply a new coat of paint on the walls.
