Customer brought in a jacket to be cleaned and repaired.  The label on the jacket says "Do Not Dry Clean or Wash" we normally do what the label suggest.  Against my better judgment I dry cleaned it.  Normally when a customer brings in a garment to the dry cleaners that is...

the method they expect.  I take responsibility for the damage of the jacket as I told Mrs. [redacted] the problem was the amount she was asking for. I did speak with Mrs. [redacted] on the day I returned from vacation and was busy at the time, she said she could replace it for $90.00 but she would take $60.00 unfortunately I agreed to that with out doing research. The next day I research the jacket found on line for $9.99.  I tried to explain to  Mrs. [redacted] when she came in for a check she didn't let me get a word in as she proceeded to pound her purse on the counter and yelling at me in front of other customers.  At that time I gave her my business card with all my information on it.  I was trying to say $25.00 for the jacket was a fair amount according to are fair claims guide lines we use in our industryWhich is through our International Fabricare Institute.  Which I have a copy for Mrs. [redacted].According to her claim form she submitted to me she claims it was purchased in 2008 as a gift, never been cleaned before. And no dollar amount, If I would have known the jacket had never been cleaned in six years I would not have cleaned it at all because of the age and no history of prior cleanings.Any questions feel free to call or email me. Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: Submitted size 4XL jacket to business for dry cleaning and jacket was destroyed. On December 1, 2014 owner verbally agreed to reimburse me $60.00 for replacement of jacket. Went to obtain reimbursement on December 2, 2014 for jacket and owner will only issue me $10.00 for replacement of jacket. You can not even purchase a 2nd hand jacket in that size for $10.00.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive $60.00 owner verbally agreed to on December 1, 2014 to replace jacket.
