Qualstar

Review: In February, 2012 I purchased a Qualstar tape library from BackupWorks in Southern California. It is a RLS-8444H library and I bought it with two LTO-5 tape drives. This library came with a 3-year warranty. I have been assured on numerous occasions that this SAS library could be expanded to four drives and also upgraded to future versions of LTO. Last month I called my vendor, BackupWorks and told them that I wanted to add two LTO-6 drives to the library. BackupWorks called Qualstar and together they quoted me a price for this upgrade. I accepted the price and ordered the drives. After a week I called BackupWorks to inquire about the status of my order. BackupWorks told me that Qualstar did not want to fulfill this order for some reason. So I called Mr. [redacted] at Qualstar and he told me that my library was no longer supported even though the maintenance agreement was still in effect. So, now I have purchased a new library from a different manufacturer. One that I hope, unlike Qualstar, can be trusted to support their products. I would like to get the full purchase price of the Qualstar library refunded because Qualstar failed to honor their agreement. Please get back to me on this within the next 10 days.Desired Settlement: I would like to get the full purchase price of the Qualstar library refunded because Qualstar failed to honor their agreement.

I am rejecting this response because:

1. It is not true in that I did not say that I wanted to keep the device in the event that the company gave me a refund. In fact I will never use the device now because I have a new and better system. So, it is of no use to me.
