Quality Towing

I received a notarized letter/invoice stating that Quality Towing had a car that was no longer mine on their lot and was now accruing storage & other fees. I traded the car in February 2015, so this vehicle should not be associated to me in any way, yet they're sending me an invoice 5 months later?!

They state that they get their information from the DMV, but when I spoke to the DMV they knew immediately that the car was titled to a new person. Quality Towing seems to be running a scam and trying to collect money from anyone they can.

I brought documents into their office to show proof the car is no longer mine and they could not provide me with any documentation that they were removing liability from me. I was told that I would still receive notices that the car was there because they are "automatic". If liability is in fact removed from me, why in the world should I still receive notices? The automatic excuse is ridiculous.

Review: My daughter Lauren lives in Winston Salem North Carolina. She was charged $280 to tow her car from the scene of an accident to Quality towing. It was only 6 miles.I spoke to the proprietor to complain. He said the city of Winston-Salem has a minimum charge of $180 to tow from the scene of an accident. I even find that to be quite high, but in extra $100 on top of that seems crazy. I do believe it is a rip off & they took advantage of a 24 yo female during a stressful situation.
