We viewed the carports offered by Quality Outdoor Products LLC at their lot on US Highway 175 West in Jacksonville TX. on July 9 2019. We agreed to buy a 20x20 A-frame carport as demonstrated on the lot. (18x20, upgraded to 20x20) we paid 10% down and were told to pay the installers $224 when it was delivered and installed; the installers would pick up an additional check for the balance due on the carport of $1083.60. Everything went as planned except after installation (July 17, 2019) we noticed that a piece of metal shown on the model had not been installed. Abutting the eave on each side there was to be a sheet of the same metal put on the roof, split in half longways, screwed to the upright rails, forming additional shade for the vehicles. The installer said that no such panels had been included and that I should call the company. On doing this, we were told that the kit we bought did not include those panels. I explained that the demo we saw at the lot did indeed have those panels, whereupon the lady (Sheila) said that their company has no connection to the dealer and would NOT provide those panels. I called the dealer *** who apologized and said he was unaware that the demo no longer represented the kit provided by Quality Outdoor Products. He said he would have to order the part and that it should be in in only a couple of weeks. This time passed and we heard nothing. I began to call 2-3 times per week, got voice mail or no answer until one day he did talk to me and promised to have it by the end of the week. As of today, August 16 2019 I have not heard anything. I called the company again, talked to Sheila again, and again was told NO. I asked that in the name of customer relations she resolve my complaint and again the answer was NO. I said I have no choice but to complain to the Revdex.com; she didn't seem to care.

The company that sold this building to this customer is a Independent dealer who sales*** Products buildings among other company products. Customer told the dealer he wanted that building, the dealer wrote up the order and had the customer sign it before submitting the purchase. Customer agreed to the details of the order. which were a 20x20x6 Aframe building. Once Quality Outdoor Products of East Texas received the order we then confirmed the order with the customer. We go over type of building, colors, style, measurements, what type of ground its going on etc. It was never mentioned at anytime that the building he would be receiving wasn't what he ordered. Once the building was installed the customer and installer both signed stating they were completely satisfied with the building and the work provided by the installer and Quality Outdoor Products. (We have both documents signed by the customer) The customers complaint was filed because the customer stated to our Tyler office that the dealer promised him extra side panels for his building. That was not stated by Quality Outdoor Products and he should have contacted dealer directly to handle that matter, he is not a Quality Outdoor Product employee. It is obvious that the company will not accept any responsibility for customer dissatisfaction. As the installer was about to leave we noticed the difference between what we saw demonstrated by the AUTHORIZED dealer and the installed product. Whatever documents the company has do not describe the product with enough detail to state so positively that they prove anything. I have learned my lesson and will not pursue this any further, nor will I ever do business with them again nor recommend them to anyone.

I was not delivered a product I ordered, in the time told. I was charged a fee for the company's mistake. I was handed off to several staff like a kid
On 6/14/19 I paid in full for a 8x8 shed stone colored with green trim. I was informed by the sales person Scotty W you will get a call in two weeks to set up delivery. It takes one week to build the floor." On 7/15/19 I called the company to see why the shed hadn't been delivered and I was informed I would get a call back. On 7/19/19 James called and I explained to him the problem. He asked " what day next week are you available?" I said Tuesday and Thursday. He said he would call me "next week, I need to see what happened." On 7/23/19 I went into the company and informed LaDawn the desk clerk I would like a refund for the shed. She went back to somewhere and came back and said "Sheryl is on the phone, she will call you later." Before I left I said to Scotty "you know I still don't have my shed yet" and he said "really." Since it was nearing the end of the work day I called the company to speak with Sheryl. Sheryl informed me I needed to talk with "James." Late afternoon James called and explained " it takes 3 to 4 weeks to build the shed. I don't know why Scotty told you you would get it in two weeks." I told James I just want a refund. He said "I don't know if you can get some of the money back or none of it." I asked why " it was the company's fault they didn't place my order and delivered the shed. If I can't get any money back then yes I will take the shed. I don't have money to give you guys!" James said "it will be there tomorrow." By 0910 a.m. 7/25/19 I called James and said "I just want my refund." He said " the guys are on their way to your house as we speak." I said to him " is it your policy to go to someone's home without calling to see if they are available?" James said "what do you want me to do they are on their way?" I said "call and cancel them, I just want my refund." Later that morning Scotty called and said "I'm calling to see what is going on. James said you want a refund. I remember putting your order in the folder on his desk, he must have forgotten all about it. I have to ask Jerry about your refund. I will have him give you a call." On 7/29/19 Jerry called and said "the delivery truck was going to your house and James had to cancel it." I tried to explain all the details to him but he wouldn't listen. He kept saying "well this is what I have been told. You said you wanted the shed then canceled it. If you don't want it there is a 10% fee we keep." I informed Jerry it wasn't my mistake and yes I did say I wanted it Wednesday afternoon around four, then I called by 9:10 Tuesday morning and told James I just want a refund. I said how were the guys delivering the shed to my house and they had not called to see if I was home and I thought it took 3 to 4 weeks to build. How could it had been built that fast. If so I would have gotten it June 15 th." Jerry said "I will cancel it but it is here on the lot. You will get a refund all except the ten percent." I paid $1334.82 they took $119.50 of my money for their error. Invoice

Desired Outcome

I want the full price returned to me. It evidently was James's fault he didn't see my invoice. There was no way after he and I talked, after four p.m., did the shed get built by 0900 a.m. the next day and was being delivered to me "right then." I also don't believe it is the company's policy for the personnel to go out to someone's house without calling first and setting up a scheduled time visit.

At the time she was informed that we are 2 to 4 weeks out. She spoke with the install manager James the week of 7-22. She informed James she would want it on Tuesday the 23rd or Thursday the 25th. On the 24th James called and verified the appointment for the following day. At that time she agreed to the installation on the 25th. Once we got verification we manufactured the siding for the building. The next day our contractors load the parts and head to her house to install. Shortly after leaving the business, she calls and cancels. Our buildings are build on site and materials are made to customers specs. When I talked with *** I could not get her to understand our system on how buildings are ordered until delivery. Our contract that she signed states Deposit non refundable. I felt that we were very far in refunding all but 10 %. QOP is out way more than the $119.50.

I was unable to get you the information I have because I have been sick and my son took care of me at his home in Illinois. I have a copy of my therapy appointments in July. As you can see on July 26, 2019 I had therapy scheduled for that morning. I use a cane and it would take me more time than usual to get dressed to go. On my phone bill I put a "X" by the 25th where I called and said I just wanted a refund. I told, James, that I was only available on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Why would I schedule delivery early Friday morning when I know I go to therapy? When James said "the delivery guys are on their way " he was lying and if I had of scheduled it for the 26th, it would have been after two p.m. because I would be exhausted after my therapy sessions and would go home afterwards and take a nap. If the product was to be delivered why was I not given a time it would come?
I deserve all the money I paid to this company. It is not right for a company to do consumers like this. I am disabled and don't appreciate being taken advantage of!

Purchased 18x20 carport on 11/27/18. Installed 12/5/18. On 1/14/19, it collapsed with 1st snow 8". The carport on display lot has braces the one they installed doean't. Poor quality - I have a 18x35 - 20ft away from this one no problem its 15 years old.

Other (requires explanation) Tried to get them to replace or repair they refused owner would not even talk to me so I just want a refund - us sell same price will stand behind their product

I am responding to the compliant *** has made toward Quality Outdoor Products. On 11-27-18 *** did purchase a basic carport from one of our suppliers. The unit he purchased was an 18 x 20 basic carport. We offer many upgrades on our units, such as welded braces/ power bar, certified, vertical, etc. As you can see on the invoice the first option in the carport price section is for power bar. It is an upgrade that *** did not select to go with. I have also included the bottom of the contract that I did not see in the complaint. It states that Quality Outdoor Products is not liable for any damages due to inclement weather. Once a unit is installed on a customer's property, it is normally considered part of their property and normally covered under the home owner's policy. If this was not added to his policy that is out of my control.
Quality Outdoor Products is a very reputable company that has been in business going on 20 years. As a resolution to *** issue we can offer him a credit of $807.65 (the amount QOP collected) toward a certified unit that has 30 PSF snow load.

I was moving and asked for my 40X40 building be finished within 2 weeks of purchase. It was agreed. The installers were over a week late. And, they built the wrong building. They were apologetic. It took them another 5 days to complete the job. At which time they hadn't installed my window. The installers left trash all over the yard. My main issue was the nonchalant attitude from Jerry Holt, the owner. Interstingly enough, a week later the roll up door was broken, bad installation. I called another company to fix it. It was worth another $112 to not have to deal with Quality outdoor products

Poor customer service lie lie lie! Very inexperienced installers.Quality is very poor for the money you have to pay.And there is a very long wait to get your carport.We ordered on May 9 2017 and they did not show up until June 29 2017 No braces were put on the carport,one screw per sheet of metal roofing no trim on the back.I would not recommend this company unless you want a shoddy job.

Run, Run, Run from this company. I bought 4 of their carports at one time. They were advertised at $595 which is a scam to draw you in. After they add taxes installation fees, they end up being more expensive than your local sellers price of $795 installed. Also they do not even brace their carports. The installers were preparing to leave and I said you need to put some braces on those 4 carports. He told me they do not brace them but I could order braces from the company for an additional $160 per carport. I have never bought any kind of metal carport in the past that was not braced by the installers as part of the installation and initial cost. The carports are flimsy and will not last through winds or snow without bring braced and the company knows that. I have contacted another company to brace my carports. I have spent way more money on these carports than any of the other local businesses would have charged me. Also, the installation crew showed up without the necessary tools. I had to go to my local Lowes Hardware and buy 2 drill bits and some lag screws at an additional cost of $47 to me. This was just really poor service. Quality Outdoor Products is the worst supplier of metal carports that I have ever experienced and I have bought many metal carports in my lifetime. I currently have 6 carports on 2 separate properties. I should have stayed with my local installer who has been reputable and provided good service. But I got sucked in by the advertised "lower price" and the "sale price" from Quality Outdoor Products. Learn from my mistake and avoid this company. I wish I had read some reviews before I bought from them.
