While we had a nice stay at the Hotel. I realized later I had a charge on my credit card that I did not authorize. I called the hotel to find out what it was as we had shortened our stay and thought I was being charged. I was told that our dog had shredded the sheers in the hotel room. I was pretty shocked as I did not see that. I was told that there were pictures taken and I told them that I would have liked to been notified and shown the pictures. They said they did not know if they still had them. I told them I thought $269.00 was very expensive. (The sheers were after all old. The hotel is very dated and has not been updated in a long time.) She told me that is what they pay for them.
In responced to the above mentioned complaint ID. This guest brought their dog with them and left it alone un-kenneled when they left the hotel. The dog was aways in the window barking at the other guest and shredded the sheers. Please find attached two pictures of the distroyed sheers. The guest did not imform us of the damages to the sheers, we found out when housekeeping went to cleant the room. The guest was charged for the sheers the same day that they checked out. Please let me know if you need anything further.
In response to the business . #1. I was never informed that the dog was barking nor did I get a complaint from the hotel while I was there. #2.I found the charge on my card later than I called the hotel. They never contacted me to tell me they found the sheers ripped I did not see that the sheers were ripped. They should have notified me. #3 They cannot charge me $269 for sheers that are I'm sure at least a decade old. This is a hotel that is old and outdated. This is just outrageous. I am willing to pay current value to resolve this but $269 for old sheers is just not exceptable.
I have reviewed this case again and I feel like we have proved that this guest's dog destroyed the sheers. I also believe that the guest knows that her dog did and chose not to notify us or came down to check out. Our housekeeping and maintenance staff can verify that her dog was always jumping up in the window. It cost us $209.67 to replace one set, which is what we had to do in this case as both sheers were destroyed. We only charged the guest $269.00, so I don't feel she was over charged to replace them. I do not believe that there is anything else that I can offer at this point.
The amount charged is unreasonable. Replacement of sheers should be adjusted to the value. Sheers were a decade or more old. The company should not get brand new sheers in replacement of old ones. Amount needs to be adjusted to the value not for them to get new ones. This is not acceptable. I think this should be sent to the corporate offices of Quality Inn. It is apparent to me that they just want to make assumptions and I will not be a subject of that. I take offense to it and just want a fair and just resolution to the complaint which is the charges are not reasonable. Thank you
