Review: I received a gift certificate for a Deluxe Spa Pedicure. The certificate stated "A Gift of Deluxe Spa Pedicure [handwritten]". Also noted off to the side was $32.When I went to redeem my certificate I was told that if I wanted a Deluxe Spa Pedicure I had to pay an extra $3.00. The price of the Deluxe Spa Pedicure was increased since the certificate was purchased.It was purchased on 6/10/14 and redeemed on 7/1/14.I tried to make the point to the salon owner that the certificate was for a Deluxe Spa Pedicure no matter the price. Their point was that the certificate was for $32.00.I see their point. But they were unable or unwilling to see my point which left me very frustrated.I felt like they knew they were increasing prices at the time the certificate was purchased. They should have informed the purchaser at that time that prices were being increased just to be aware.I did get a pedicure, but got a regular pedicure at the cost of $25.00. I was given another gift certifcate for the balance, $7.00. I will not be returning. I should just have given it back to them but I took it. It's worthless to me. The person who bought me the gift certificate is out $7.00 which makes me sad and is a waste of money on their part.Desired Settlement: I'd like my $7.00 refund in cash not in a gift certificate. I will not be returning so the gift certificate I have is worth nothing to me.I would like the owners to be up front when a gift certificate is purchased. If the certificate is for a service, no other payment is needed, if at the time of redemption the price has been increased. If the certificate is for a dollar amount, it should be noted on the certificate.
