Review: I used to be a member of Pure Yoga, but had to cancel my membership because I was moving out of the state. In order to terminate a membership contract prematurely, their policy is that you must provide an official "change of address" confirmation from the post office. I provided this documentation and was told that the membership had been cancelled. I asked for some sort of receipt, but they said they did not have one and assured me that the membership was cancelled.
Two months after I cancelled the membership, I saw a membership charge ($155) on my credit card. I contacted them to tell them I had already cancelled my membership and to ask them why they charged me. They told me they were "so sorry" about the confusion and that they would resolve it as soon as possible and contact me in the next couple of days to confirm. A few days went by; no word from them. I contacted them again. Another few days went by; still no word from them. I contacted them again demanding resolution and that if it wasn't provided, I would have to file a complaint and claim the charge as fraudulent. I never heard back.
I honestly believe that they took advantage of me, knowing that I would not be able to confront them in person since I moved away. I have never filed a complaint with Revdex.com before, but in this case I felt it was necessary to prevent this from happening to anyone else. This kind of billing practice is unacceptable, not to mention illegal.Desired Settlement: At the very least, Pure Yoga needs to refund me for this membership charge. In addition, I would expect someone from their management team to call me and issue an apology over the phone. In order to prevent this from happening in the future, they should probably revisit their billing practices (i.e. receipts, confirmation, etc.) and re-evaluate the employees responsible.
Review: I contacted Pure Yoga within the 3 day cooling off period and indicated my desire to cancel the contract. I was informed that this was not allowed.Desired Settlement: I wish to have a membership contract cancelled.
