My husband and I signed a contract on 6/16/2015 to have our 725 sq ft home drywalled, plumbing, cabinetry installed, and bathroom tiled. We gutted our house to the studs and removed all of our belongings except a set of bunk beds, a chair, and kitchen appliances. We insulated ourselves. PHI basically had an empty home to work in even though we were still living in it. We anticipated the work would begin a few weeks after signing the contract because we were informed by the salesman that was to be expected. The date given was the week after July 4th; this was then recalled due to loss of an employee by PHI. When work began in August the drywaller covered the outlets. I had two phone conversations with PHI boss, sent emails with pictures, and took time off work to go to the office. We requested they send quality control go to our home to see the poor workmanship on the drywall installation and were told by the person sent that we were just seeing the "process" and would be happy with the end result. Last night as our electrician was finalizing his job we had to dig out a fire alarm box from behind the drywall; this is just part of the end result that we do not love but will live with to move on. It took exactly four months to the day for PHI to cash our final payment check. The only way the pain of this could have been minimized would have been if we would have received replies to our emails and calls - all contact was from our end. To the credit of the carpenters and tilers, our cabinetry and bath tile is beautiful.
