Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 15, 2016/10/03) */ TO: BBB of Northern Indiana Re: Complaint Activity Report Case #XXXXXXXX [redacted] We were called out by Mrs. [redacted] on a no cooling call. When we arrived @ her home, her daughter let us in and we called Mrs. [redacted] to let her know we... would start trouble shooting the A.C. This is where the trouble started because she was upset that we were early. She informed my service tech that she didn't have time to talk to him, so he went ahead and found the breaker to the A.C. unit tripped, burnt off wire @ the compressor and a burnt out condensor fan motor. He replaced the compressor wire & replaced the motor. By this time she was home & he told her what he had found. When he turned the unit on one of the new motor wires came loose & shorted to the unit of course this caused a large spark (she calls it her fireball/explosion!) This tripped the main breaker in the house panel. He reconnected the wire (10 min.) and went into the house to reset the breaker ans she was livid and acting crazy. My tech told her that everything was ok, but she continued ranting. He wrote up the bill, she wrote him a check and kept right on ranting. [redacted] headed back to the office and she pulled into the parking lot screaming @ him, that she wanted refunded for the damage he had caused. He again told her that there was no damage, so she got back in her car (mad as heck) and left. She has been our customer since 1998 and I have 9 service tickets in our file for work we have done & 4 of them by the serviceman that was there this time. It seems strange that if she was that unhappy that she would write us a check. Sincerely, [redacted]
