I was in the *** Hospital for surgery in August 2019. Unbeknownst to me, a sleep doctor walked in and basically just told me that I should have a sleep study. I had no knowledge that this was going to happen, and certainly didn't know I was going to get charged for him just to tell me that I should have a sleep study.
After I left the hospital, I started getting bills from them telling me that I need to pay $92 for him to tell me that. I didn't want, didn't ask for, and didn't need this, and I should have been able to refuse someone just telling me I should have a sleep study. There was no reason for this, and there is certainly no reason they should have told me they'd be charging me $92 for nothing!
To get past this, I said ok I'll just pay this in installments. I called their office, and they told me that I would have to pay a 4% service charge for each installment because I'm paying with my HSA card! To have to pay $92 for something I didn't want, didn't need, and should have been able to refuse, and then to be told that I have to pay 4% on top of that is outright insulting!
I did not want and did not need this service, and I got absolutely nothing out of it.

Dear ***,
I am enclosing a consult that was requested by Dr Smith for our group to see the patient for the sleep apnea. We do not randomly see patients in the hospital unless consulted by another physician. The patient does have a history of sleep apnea and is non-compliant. As far as the patients balance of $91.73 with an HSA We DO NOT charge the 4%. We do not as a practice charge 4% it is the credit card company that we use.
Thank you. Elizabeth E.
In good faith we are going to write off 91.73 thank you Beth E

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
With this response, I also assume that they will notify the collections agency that they have sent my name to not to contact me, and that my credit will not be affected.
Regards
