Review: On February 4, 2015 I purchased a Magnum Detox soft gel. This product comes with a manufacturer warranty, therefore I felt comfortable spending $49.99 plus tax in cash. After I paid, my purchase was placed in a black plastic bag. On Feb. 10, 2015 I opened the black plastic bag for the first time and realized there wasn't a receipt. The bag had not been opened since I had made the purchase. There was not an opportunity for a receipt to have been lost. That day I returned to Puffin Glass and explained to the clerk why I was there. I requested a refund with the intention of purchasing another box of the same product so that I would have a receipt in the event that the softgel didn't work as advertised. The clerk showed me to a paper sign on an unlined sheet of paper that stated no refunds. Even the clerk had a hard time finding this sign, as it was mingled in with many other home made signs, and it was more than 8 feet away from the cash register that I had gone to when I made the original purchase. My vision makes it hard for me to see something of that size from that far away. When I was shown this sign I asked the clerk if that was the reason that they didn't give receipts. He said that they will give the customer a receipt if they ask for one. It was my first time at this store, so I assumed that a receipt would be given automatically. I didn't know to ask for one. I then asked if I could get something that would show proof of purchase and was refused because the clerk said he had no way of knowing if I had really gotten it there or not. I pointed out to him that had I been given a receipt, I could show him proof that I had bought it there. Later that day I used the product, being very careful to follow the manufacturers instructions. It didn't work as advertised. I am not able to use the money back guarantee because I do not have a receipt or any other proof of purchase.Desired Settlement: I would like for Puffin Glass to require their employees to give, or at least offer, each customer a receipt for each and every purchase. I would also like them to make the sign stating no refunds or exchanges clearly visible to every customer, and have a copy of it at each register. I would also like my money refunded. I am on disability and am raising my two grandchildren. I can not afford to loose over $50. If I had known of the no refund policy, I wouldn't have purchased from this store.
