I thought I was paying for *** magazine for a year. I paid in two checks for the amount of $69.97 the total $139.94. They have both cleared my bank. I have not received the *** magazine? I have gotten these magazine for years. So when the invoice came it was from Publishers Partnership Services. I just thought it was with People magazine that I trusted. How did they know that I subscribed to this magazine? But now I know they are not *** magazine. They have my money and I have nothing? They are crooks this is not right.

. 10/15/19
Publishers Partnership Services is a scam . Sent a check for a magazine, never got the magazine. Called and got a recording. Wrote a letter asking for money back as stated on the recording. No response. Same experience as ***. below. Obvious scam.

Publishers Partnership Services is a scam. They billed my 99 year old mother in law for large amounts for a magazine subscription, which she paid, only to be billed again and again every month. My husband and I called the actual magazine company and they were so apologetic, they said it was a terrible scam, that they have only a twice a year charge for their magazine of $26.00 every six months. She was paying these crooks all kinds of different amounts every month, say like $34.00, $48, $29, on and on. Every month. Until we caught it. Do not fall for any of their offers, they are crooks and need to be stopped. We just got another "offer" today for $49.95.

My 100 year old mother lives in a retirement community of 1,500 people. I would not be surprised if this company is sending unsolicited mailings to every address in this large complex and profiting from it. Everyone who is aware of PPS's unethical practices needs to complain publicly such as leaving a review here, posting on social media, contacting publications and organizations to publicize the problem, and using word of mouth to spread the alarm.
When Revdex.com challenged PPS last year their response was that their complaint rate is low compared to the number of solicitations they mail. What they're doing is evidently legal, so it's up to the public to put them out of business by educating enough people so that they're solicitations no longer result in responses. They all need to go in the trash!
I would like to see this company profiled by senior media such as AARP as a warning that they are not a magazine publisher, but simply a middle man that charges higher fees for subscriptions than the publisher does. You send them a check and they place the order for you, keeping the 'service charge' off the top as their easy profit. I guess it's not illegal or mail fraud, but it's shameful.
My mother has fallen for this company's scam in the past, but I cannot get her off their mailing list. Revdex.com says that the company has been in business 1 year, but I believe it's longer because solicitations come in my father's name; he's been deceased for 3 years. I think maybe the company moves around the country, leaving one location when the local Revdex.com starts questioning their practices, and starting up elsewhere. All they need is a PO Box, and they're back in business.
If you or your elderly relative has been 'stung' by PPS, please join me in taking the time to expose their practices through any media or personal contact you can make in the hope that they will stop ripping people off. And leave your review here please.
It appears to prevent our easily confused older relatives from squandering their money we'll need to intercept this mail because it isn't going to stop.

I discovered today that when I received a renewal notice for *** Magazine back on 6-24-19 I was scammed by a company called Publishers Partnership Services. I sent them a check for $139.95 that day and now I'm receiving the real notice from the magazine who never received my payment. I see that I'm not the only one. I tried to call the number listed on the bogus form but got a recording. Now they have my check and address. I will contact my bank asap

I sent a check via Mail to PPS for $50.00 in July 2019 to receive *** Magazine. I have not received the magazine. I tried to call the number indicated in the invoice and no-one to talk to. I keep getting numerous offers from them for other publications like ***, *** Magazine, etc. .This looks like a big scam for consumers.

You've been reported to the Revdex.com for fraud .

I paid PPS in two installments of $79.98 each for a one year subscription to *** MAGAZINE! I have not received an issue since Aug 5. I called *** and they don’t have any record of being paid. So where is my money and can I get a refund?

sent a check (no.***) and was cashed 5/15/19 for a renewal subscription to *** magazine for 2 more years. An expiration date of 4/2024 should appear on my magazine. It has been more than 12 weeks and it the expiration date remains 4/2022.

I received what I thought was an invoice for a magazine I have been receiving for years, and paid the invoice. I then received a real invoice from the magazine directly, and they informed me that they had no contact/relationship with this magazine subscription service and the renewal was not filed as I was advised. I'm unable to reach them by phone, no response.

This business(?) sent us an offer to renew my subscription to The *** for one year at the rate of $139.95. A check was mailed to them on 7/5/19 for that amount. The *** has just informed us that they have not received any confirmation from PPS that payment was made and further that PPS is not one of their authorized agents.

I am writing on behalf of my 90 year old mother in law who has started to receive these subscription offers from Publishers Partnership Services over the last few months. She is easily confused and I have caught her many times writing checks to new magazine subscriptions that she never read before because she thinks she is renewing them. She also currently subscribes to People magazine and recently received one for that publication as well. Fortunately I have been able to tear these up before she can mail them in. I have attempted to contact the company but can find no information on them to do so. If you receive anything from this company, tear it up and throw it away immediately.

Dear ***,
Thank you for your email. If you would kindly provide us with your Mothers contact information we would be more than happy to remove her from all future mailings to avoid any potential duplicate magazine orders.

how come authorities have not been contacted about this fraudulent company scamming people and continue to do so. What is the deal??? What are they doing with everyone else's money? Why have they not been shut down or taken to court or something??? Zero stars but had to leave one in order to get this printed!! This is absurd!!!

Cannot get a live person to tell me where my Subscription is.
worst customer service I have ever had..is this indeed a scam??

Publishers Partnership Services Response • Aug 23, 2019

Dear ***,
I am sorry for the delay with your subscription. If you would kindly send an email to:
[email protected] we would be happy to give you a status update.
It can take a few weeks for the publishers to process everything but, if you send us an email we can provide you with a better timeline/expectation.

On 6/24/2019 I send them this via a letter requesting a refund of my cashed check since they never renewed my *** Magazine subscription and they never responded. This is what I wrote and included a copy of my cancelled check.
Attached please find a copy of my cancelled check #***. I was invoiced by your company, supposedly for a *** Magazine subscription renewal. A month after paying this I received an invoice from *** Magazine. When I called People they said you do not represent them. Therefore, please issue me a refund for $139.95 which cleared my bank on 6/04. If I do not hear back within 4 weeks of receipt I will report your company to the Revdex.com.
Needless to say they have not responded. Now I get offers for other magazines from them.

I ordered *** magazine through this deceptive company. *** never got the payment. There is no way to reach these people, only by mail...*** mail.

Received what appeared to be a bill from Publishers Partnership Services for *** magazine which I subscribe to. Sent check for $52.95 on July 3; 2019. A few days later my credit card statement showed my usual yearly renewal amount (which was about $20 less) On July 9; 2019 sent a certified letter to Publishers Partnership Services explaining I already had a subscription and please reimburse me. I am not able to reach them by phone and it is almost six weeks later with no refund.

On 6/28/2019 we ordered the *** though this company. Our check cleared on 7/18/2019, but when we checked with the *** on 8/15/2019, they had no record of any subscription.

We received nothing for the money sent to the company. We have asked for a refund of the funds paid to the company by an e-mail sent from the Revdex.com site, since this company makes contact somewhat challenging. We consider the time period indicated an inexcusable delay at best and something dishonest at worst.

Payment made to *** Magazine in March 3, and April 26 for $89.98 and $89.97 respectively. Checks were cashed but magazine never received.
Payment to *** Magazine made on March 3 and April 26 for $89.98 and $89.97 respectively. Cashed electronically on 4/15/19 and 5/6/19 by magazine company. Magazine has never been received. Spoke to Kelly for a refund but no progress has been made with my dispute. Copies of everything are available. Check numbers are *** and *** respectively.

Publishers Partnership Services mails statements to my home all the time. I have NEVER done business with this company nor do I have ANY MAGAZINE subscriptions currently active. This does state at the bottom that it is NOT a bill but the document looks like a bill. I have tried to contact them to remove me from their mailing list with no luck.
